I felt the need to share some great news that I received, Kuwait has made generous donation to the world famous museum in Paris, Louvre, to build Islamic wing within the museum. I read the wing holds the largest and finest Islamic arts gallery and artifacts that goes back to the 7th century, awesome.
The new Islamic department was opened last Saturday, Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Hamad Al-Sabah was there to represent the Emir of Kuwait along with French president and Al Waleed Bin Talal, isn’t this exciting? I’m certainly going to visit the Louvre Museum next time I’m in Paris, the love city.

“isn’t this exciting?” No not really. The as the whole project is being founded by thieves and dictators.
What’s your proof?
Read history, politics, and look at how the governments are run. If your a middle easterner and live here, then you must be blind or extremely rich.
Jasim I agree with Bu Jwais, I’m not saying I know everything going on out there but conceptually the idea of financing such a well-known and prestigious (Louvre) to build a wing that helps millions around the world change their misconception about Islam isn’t bad at all.
I agree the project is good. But lets not be ignorant and praise or appricate those who are founding the museum. Which is what it seemed you were saying in the last paragraph of your article. You gave credit to the names listed, thats a bad idea. Its like saying Hitler founded millions to save poor people in Africa. If that were true, would anyone care? Not really.
Ok, proof me wrong by listing the names of whom you are accusing as dictators. As simple as that! I’m not attacking you, Jasim.I just want to know who are the thieves and dictators?
Al Waleed Bin Talal and the other name listed up there. If I write it, my comment will be deleted like last time. King Mohammed VI of Morocco and Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman. All thieves and dictators.
There is no proof. His only argument is because they are rich, and not elected the same way in the west with 4 year terms that means something bad.
He is making a generalization without even looking at a balance statement. If he was a financial advisor and he made financial reports as in-depth as his accusations he would get no business.
And like I said he saying the word robbing. That word implies a specific action that is not legal. Do you think he is making a valid point reflecting the constitution of these countries?
Also western democracies have a lot of corruption and lobbies buying their rights and power. With royal families that care for their country it’s better to have a royal family than a democracy bought and corrupted for corporations.
Also America can afford their corruption with all their technology and innovation. How would the middle east manage with corruption that influences political decisions? The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. That’s western democracy, and it’s a survival of the fittest system. We have a more socialist system. Even the recently accused Tyrant Qaddafi was very socialist and I doubt Libya would ever bs able to afford to socialist system he set up now that they are a competitive democracy.
Look at Egypt as an example of an emerging democracy, and that is a good example of what could happen in the middle east and they are still becoming a religious state. So Jasim is naive and making quick judgements. He thinks he is saying the right thing but the key word is also conformism. He should know what that means and how that translates in the middle east.
Islamic art projects like these actually promote the rich history of the Islamic culture, art, and architecture, which help show the “real” Islam. Think about it! The Louvre attracts millions of visitors, who have a great chance to see what this culture is all about. Unfortunately, people in the Middle East don’t see it this way. They just love to complain and put everything down! This might actually rectify the barbaric acts some fundamental Muslims do, which are the only ones highlighted in the media.
Do you know what’s funny i’v seen many videos about this there is no mention of any Kuwaiti donation for the museum the only person that’s been mentioned is Al Waleed Bin Talal what’s up with that?

but yes I agree most of the websites and videos were mentioning Al Waleed Bin Tallal hmm
I’m all for the promotion of the arts, but this begs one question: why doesn’t Kuwait invest any money to promote the art scene here in Kuwait?
Our museums, for one, are a mess. The National Museum is still a burnt-out shell from 1991 [except for a small part that's presently open but is still embarrassing to be called our "National" museum], the Museum of Modern Art doesn’t even have paved roads leading up to it, we have many fantastic art galleries all over Kuwait that don’t get appropriate media coverage and above all, we have some truly talented artists and creative tour-de-forces here that are constantly ignored while the country focuses on building burger joints and malls. Kuwait poured millions into the Louvre collection; why don’t those millions go here towards a plan to push Kuwait further out into the art scene?
One can only wonder.
