Last night I went for the Sci-Fi movie “Attack the Block”, and despite being rated 18+ and this is not for sex scenes because they’re censored in Kuwait anyhow, but for violence, drug content and bad language I saw many families with kids as young as 4-5 years old.
Little kids seeing the extreme violence in some movies can really have bad effects on their mental health and behavior. I saw Cinecape includes movie ratings on their website, but I think enforcement shall be considered, also parents should be more responsible toward their kids if they ever want their children to grow-up healthy.

I was at Jarir bookstore today and I saw that the book “Speak Kuwaiti” was released for 3 K.D., many were asking me where they can get it, the publishers say Virgin Megastore, Jarir, and That Al Salasil.
I find it a perfect gift for your foreign friends who wish to learn Kuwaiti accent.

I liked the idea of this new book “Speak Kuwaiti”, unlike any other book, this book has been compiled and designed to focus on the spoken Kuwaiti dialect in the easiest and most interactive way possible. I have many expatriate friends who often ask me “How can I speak Kuwaiti ?” or “How to say I’m hungry, tired, happy in Kuwait?” Well this book is the answer
The price is 3.5 K.D and can be found at Virgin, That Al Salasil, and Jarir bookshops.
You can also order it from here

The traditional Kuwaiti word “Harissa” had joined the world of Oxford Dictionaries. Oxford Dictionary defined Harissa as harasa to crush, pound, tenderize by beating.
For those who don’t know Harissa, it’s is traditional meal in Kuwait, a porridge-like dish made of ground wheat and tendered meat pounded together.
So who wants Harissa ?
Thanks [Yousef]
