I came to know about a Kuwaiti company offering a free recycling service. I spoke with their Manager Mr. Basam Al Enezi and asked about the service, the company Metal Recycling Company (MRC) will deliver waste bins (Paper, Plastic, and Metal) to your house and will collect the waste every week.
What do you do with the waste, I asked ? We collect it and re-cycle it instead of being dumped at the landfill. I think its a great idea for Kuwait environment and worth our support.

We were invited today to “REUSE 4.0″ exposition held @ ACK in west Mishref. The exposition started today & will continue until the 13th everyday 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. We arrived there at 7:00 pm.

REUSE was initiated by Zahen Sultan & Abdulwahab Alghanim, basically its an annual exposition that serves as an opportunity for non-profit organizations, companies, professionals & aspiring creative talents to showcase their accomplishments in the fields of social responsibility & sustainability with respect to preserving our environment & raising awareness on the recycling concept.

I liked how they re-used waste materials like paper, plastic, bottles, tires, cans, drums to create creative masterpieces & useful items. Recycling is an imporant concept that we really need to promote further in Kuwait, it can save a lot of money & lower the pollution & produced waste.

Currently most of the trash in Kuwait is sent to landfills, I have visited a local landfill during the college & trust me its not a pretty scene at all with all sort of pollution to soil, air & even harmful to health, not to mention all sort of awful odors

The exposition is mainly sponsored by Zain, other sponsors include Agility, MRC, ExxonMobil, Dow & others.

I wish Kuwait Environment Public Authority (K-EPA) pay more attention to recycling of waste material, also I wish that people start to learn how re-use most of their trash & be more friendly to the environment. This is the only way we can preserve our environment & hence our future.
