We finally had the chance today to visit Kuwait’s tallest and most prestigious sky scrapper, Al Hamra Tower.
We arrived there at 12:00 pm at the main entrance and headed to the 7th floor where we met with Al Hamra PR, then they gave us a presentation and took us on an exciting tour.
Standing at 414 meters high, Al Hamra represents the tallest building in Kuwait and the 2nd tallest in Arabian Gulf with 80 floors. As for the name, Al Hamra is the name for the 1st cinema in Kuwait which was at the same location, I still remember watching many movies in it back in 90′s.
It was designed by American architectural firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM), which is the same designer for Burj Khalifa in Dubai. What I like about Al Hamra design is that it looks different wherever we look at it (Asymmetrical) and it also maintains the identity of Kuwait.
I also feel so proud that the construction was done by the local Kuwaiti company, Al Ahmadiah. Now let’s see what will Al Hamra consists of;
1. Business Tower: Offices.
2. Luxury Center: Shopping Mall, Wellness & SPA, Roof Garden, IMAX Cinema, Restaurants, GYM, Cafe’s.
3. Multi Storey Car-Park (Capacity of 2000 cars).
The shopping mall will bring many first-time brands in Kuwait such as Hermes, GUCCI Cafe, BiCE Ristorante, Le Sushi Bar, Mouawad jewelry, kate spade fashion store and others.
Another great thing is that there will be a new Cinema Company with 9 IMAX theaters, read my previous post Click Here.
Did I mention there are 43 elevators and 9 of them are high speed shuttle elevators that can take you to the top in a few seconds, and there was a huge LED screen in the middle of the shopping mall, which is the largest in Kuwait (See above).
Before I forget, there will be free WiFi Internet connection too. The total cost of Al Hamra Tower is about 180 Million Dinar, but from what I have seen and heard its worth it.
Al Hamra Tower will definitely make Kuwait city skyline more beautiful, I’ll attend the opening Insha’allah.
We brought you many photos, we hope you enjoy them as much we enjoyed taking them.
