I awoke in early morning and headed to the biggest K-Cats show in whole Middle East at the tent near Safir International Hotel. I love cats, always did, and believe there’s nothing more fun than seeing all those cute cats gathered in one place competing for the beauty crown. This year show is a lot more organized and there were over 111 participants compared to 68 last year, there were many breeds; Persians, British, Scotish, Ragdoll, American Shorthair but sadly no Turkish Van which has two colored eyes, also I didn’t know that Sphynx breed (furless) is the most expensive, they say they are smart.

I walked around the show and cuddled the cats, I don’t know why I don’t have a cat yet! I chitchatted with the organizers and the judges who flew all the way from the U.S about the show, they K-Cats is the first of its kind and was established a couple years ago, I was glad to know that they started working K’S Path to achieve their goals. Though it was surprising that most of those lovely cats were purchased from Friday Market! I hate how those butchers at Friday Market treat cats and have them trapped in those filthy cages! I also asked organizers if they have any plans for street cats and if they are planning to have a shelter for them instead of leaving them on the streets where they die under the wheels of speeding cars or hunger but unfortunately no solutions as of yet.

An Instagramer shared this snapshot that he says was spotted at a local bank. I know salaries for most governmental and private sector jobs were deposited by the end of the month but can anyone please tell me what this tomcat was trying to do?

Hello Kitty Restaurant & Cafe has finally opened in Bida’a, my secret source called me in the morning and told me they are opening today at 4:30 PM so I went to check it out and taste some of their dishes. Outside there was a seating area that I suppose would be nice in evening since weather is amazing nowadays, and inside it was medium sized and built on two levels. I liked the Hello Kitty themed interior design though I expected more thrilling decorations.

They told me I was their first ever customer, the staff were also dressed with Hello Kitty themed custom. I asked for the menu but sadly they said they opened a few minutes ago and it’s not yet available, but they said that they serve cakes, ice cream, pasta, pizza, steak, hot & cold drinks among other dishes. The food presentation was excellent, the pinkish colored Hello Kitty cakes looked cute.

I asked the chef if they can serve me with a few dishes to taste, sadly they said they can only give me little bites from their cakes because they are still preparing the kitchen, the little samples tasted good, I personally favored the Tiramisu.

Most of the their cakes were priced KD 0.500 fils to KD1.700 ,I know many were waiting for Hello Kitty restaurant-to open (since it’s the first one in the region) and wanted a full review but I promise to check their food sometime soon, the restaurant will be softly opened today so you can go and tell us what you think.

PAWS are a group of part-time local and expat volunteers committed to protect animal welfare in Kuwait, they strive to provide assistance to homeless and neglected animals by providing veterinary care, rescue and adoption services to domestic and wild animals. I received E-mail that they are shutting down because their land owner gave them order to vacate their shelter which is located in Kabd, they have hundreds of animals that will have no home as they need to raise KD12,000 to set up a new shelter.
