Last night we were invited to RedBull’s Art of CAn expo at 360Mall, and I must say I’m really impressed with what I saw.

Its the first time to have such an event in Kuwait, there were over 63 contenders who worked hard to give us truly creative artistic works.

I loved how this expo promotes the idea of recycling and re-using of trash.

Building, sculpting, welding, gluing, hammering, bending, folding, printing..etc were some of the used techniques.

There were six judges and three winners, but personally I believe everyone that participated is a winner.

 The top places are:

 1. The scorpion by Everito Villacruz. (See picture #20)

2. Ready for Action by Bader Al Mansour. (See picture #4)

3. Dazzling Lady Gaga by Hadeel Al Litheeth. (See picture #3)

The expo will open today for the public and will continue till the 17th of December, go and check it out I promise you won’t regret.

Having trash cans fixed at our streets is a good idea for general cleanness but having this too-many installed in one place is an ugly scene.

I came to know about a Kuwaiti company offering a free recycling service. I spoke with their Manager Mr. Basam Al Enezi and asked about the service, the company Metal Recycling Company (MRC) will deliver waste bins (Paper, Plastic, and Metal) to your house and will collect the waste every week.

What do you do with the waste, I asked ? We collect it and re-cycle it instead of being dumped at the landfill. I think its a great idea for Kuwait environment and worth our support.

I love beach walks on Fridays, and usually I choose the Scientific center walkway, but today I went for a walk nearby T.G.I Friday’s and I was shocked to see that the beach was stuffed with soda cans, oil cans, empty containers, bottles and waste !

It really ruined the landscape and the beautiful sea view, its sad how some people are so careless and litter on beaches. Despite the many beaches cleaning campaigns, the beaches will never be clean if such people don’t learn to be civilized.

Thanks to [Shahou88] for the video.

I liked the idea of RedBull’s upcoming competition “The Art of Can” because the idea helps us with understanding the basic concept of recycling rather than trashing. There are really many creative things we can do with cans, boxes, and home wastes.

The competition will be made at 360 and the deadline for submitting your work is on August 31.
