أحب كثيرا الاماكن السياحية التاريخية والتراثية في الكويت لأنها تمثل نافذة للماضي, ومن ابرز هذه الاماكن بالطبع المركز الامريكاني الثقافي الذي سيتم افتتاحه في يناير 2012 في منطقة قبلة.ا

 ما افرحني هو الجهد الكبير لدار الآثار الاسلامية بتجديد مبنى المستشفى الامريكاني وترميمه وتحويله الى مركز ثقافي عالمي وتاريخي واعطائه اسم المركز الامريكاني الثقافي.ا

يتكون المركز من مسرح كبير ورائع يروي قصة المركز (عرض بالفيديوا والصوت) ويستضيف العديد من الفنانين بالاضافة الى مساحات وقاعات للمعارض والانشطة المختلفة ومخزن لحفظ الاثار الثمينة, كذلك ورشة للانشطة ومكتبة تحتوي على العديد من الكتب التاريخية.ا

  سينضم المركز الامريكاني الثقافي العديد من الانشطة والفعاليات الرائعة التى من اهمها معرض “ذخيرة الدنيا” الشهير والذي يضم العديد من اروع واغلى المجوهرات والكنوز في العالم والتابعة لحضارة “مغل” الهندية الاسطورية.ا

  اقيم معرض ذخيرة الدنيا في العديد من البلدين حول العالم منذ سنة 2001 من ضمنها اوروبا والولايات المتحدة وآسيا والان في الكويت.ا

“Dear BananaQ8. Hope you’re doing well , I’d appreciate it if you post about it at your blog. Please find attached the storytelling event. The event held for 1.5hr started at 4pm with 35 kids attending . Mrs. Diana started interacting with the kids and then read the story. She asked the kids to draw what they understood from the story.  The teachers choose 2 best drawings one for a girl and one for a boy and THAT AL SALAS IL gave them a gift for each winner.

The event was a success and we’re hoping to make another one soon.”

I liked the idea of this new book “Speak Kuwaiti”, unlike any other book, this book has been compiled and designed to focus on the spoken Kuwaiti dialect in the easiest and most interactive way possible. I have many expatriate friends who often ask me “How can I speak Kuwaiti ?”  or “How to say I’m hungry, tired, happy in Kuwait?” Well this book is the answer

I was checking out the magazines section at the bookstore, and was little surprised to find out that Al Jarima magazine still there. I remember many people loved this magazine back in the mid 90′s because of the weird headlines and stories that we can’t find anywhere else but in this magazine

واخيرا تم افتتاح مكتبة في مجمع الأفينيوز فخلال تواجدي مجمع الأفينيوز عصر اليوم لاحظت ان مكتبة ذات السلاسل قد افتتحت فأخذت جولة سريعة بها لأرى ما لديهم.ااعجبتني المكتبة فهي كبيرة ومنظمة ومقسمة لعدة اقسام حسب تصنيف الكتب والمؤلفات.اتوجد مجموعة جميلة ومتنوعة من الكتب المحلية والعربية بالاضافة للاجنبية سواء كانت قصص, اقتصاد, طهي, رومانسية واجتماعية ومجلات اعلامية وتعليمية وحتى فكاهية وغيرها الكثير.اهناك ايضا قسم جميل خاص بالاطفال ويوجد بها مقاعد مريحة للقراءة بالاضافة لمقهى صغير فالقهوة صديق حميم للقراءة ا

I managed to get you a sneak peek at the newly opened “Kuwait National Library” at sea side Mirqab area , to my knowledge its the biggest library in Kuwait & maybe even in the Gulf.

The building itself looked really attractive with really nice exterior finishings. The library had soft opening today under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Subah Al-Ahmad the amir of Kuwait.

On the inside, it looked so magnificent & spacious with elegant decorations & exquisite interior designs

I really loved everything that I saw along my tour, it has 3 floors & levels in the basement & has a separate car parking building.

It has a nice designed auditorium with big screen for spacial occasions. Just imagine how much knowledge this huge library can hold.

Some of the other facilities include mutli-purpose meeting rooms,cultural diwan, conference rooms, atrium, projecting rooms, kids library, meeting halls,storage rooms, nice lobby & many many things.

At one place there was something they called “Time capsule”, it has a scroll containing the history of our beloved departed, Sheikh Jaber Al-Sabah, that will be opened after 100 years from now in 2105, so people then can know the exact history about him. Great idea!

افتتحت وزير التربية والتعليم د.موضي الحمود مكتبة عبد العزيز الصرعاوي في منطقة الخالدية, من الجميل انه تم اخيرا اعطاء جزء من الاهتمام للمكتبات العامة ومرافقها وهو دعم ممتاز للثقافة والطلبة والباحثين. المكتبة جميلة من الخارج واعجبني تصميم المبنى على شكل رف وعليه كتب موضوعة, وكذلك من الداخل فقد زودت بالعديد من الوسائل التعليمية مثل شاشات كبيرة للعرض والحواسيب وخدمة الانترنت بالاضافة لتوفير قسم خاص للاطفال ووسائل تعليمية وترفيهية خاصة لهم. وعقبال مكتبات المناطق الاخرى ا
