I enjoyed the first part a lot, and now the sequel is coming on May ! This movie takes comedy to the extreme.

This time they travel to exotic Thailand for a wedding. After the unforgettable bachelor party in Vegas, they’re taking no chances and has chose for a safe. However, things don’t always go as planned.

What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but what happens in Bangkok can’t even be imagined

Today, we attended the last day for the amazing “Kuwait International Film Retreat” event at Hilton resort. We arrived there at 7:00 pm, there were workshop earlier for Screenwriting and Story Developement. but sadly I couldn’t attend them.

The Young Film Contest had also announced the winners for their contest, and I wanted to meet some of the young Kuwaiti directors and see how this will help take Kuwaiti cinema to the next level.

I liked how the organizers selected reputable judges to select the winners, there was also voting for the Directing & Filmmaking, Cinematography & Photography, and Editing & Sound for Cinema.

The results were announced by the distinguished TV presenter Barakat Al-Wegayan.

They also honored the actors that gave support to this event, and like we always do, we had the chance to meet the winner young Kuwaiti director, Dawood Shuail.

We wish congratulate the winners for the achievements, and wish them all the best !

We were cordially invited today to the awaited “Kuwait International Film Retreat” event at Hilton Mangaf. This is the first time we have something like a film festival in Kuwait where we have a red carpet and celebrities.

We arrived at 7:00 pm, luckily for us, the guests and celebrities were just starting to arrive.  It was really great to see and meet all those famous Arab stars and celebrities on the red carpet

Among the attended celebrities were Samir Ghanim (remember Batota ?), Nabila Obaid, Hayat Al-Fahad, Jasim Al-Nabhan, Mohammad Jaber, Maryam Al-Saleh, Abdulaziz Al-Mussalem,Hessa Al-Loghany, Zeina Karam, Yaqoub Abdullah, Mishary Al-Balam, and many others.

I believe this event will really help push Kuwaiti Cinema to the next level. There were many TV channels covering the event too, such as MBC, Al-Watan and many others.

Also many interviews were made with the attendees and they all agreed that the event is amazing.

There was this Indian man that looked like Mahatma Gandhi, don’t know who he is The guests then went inside the big tent where a classic Kuwaiti band was performing. Then they played the Egyptian recent film “Microphone”.

Later the guests had a romantic exquisite dinner. The Film Retreat event will continue for another todays, and tomorrow there will be the Kuwaiti Young Film contest at Al Kout mall.

There will also be three workshops for Film Production, Screenwriting and Story Developement, and Digital Cinema.

I figured it was time for a traditional look ahead into the near future, as I take a look at the blockbusters currently in final production that’ll be heading our way for this hot summer. So buckle up fellas, there are lots of sequels and franchises ahead.  Personally, I will do the best I can to not miss any of them, most of blockbusters will start to hit the theaters on the 30th of March. Movies that we will see on April include Scream 4, Fast Five.

May: Thor, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Brides Maids, The Hangover Part II, Kung Fu Panda 2.

June: X-Men First Class, Green Lantern, Cars 2.

July: Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Captain America: The First Avenger, Cowboys & Aliens.

August: Spy Kids 4: Armageddon, The Smurfs.

December: Mission:Impossible – Ghost Protocol. This last one is not included in the summer list, but I am waiting for it too

I had a chance today to pay the “7th Art: History & Achievements” expo at 360 Mall a little visit.

Personally, I’m a cinema guy, yeah I enjoy watching movies at cinema even if I have a luxurious home-theater

I like the cinema atmosphere So back to the expo, its organized by Kuwait National Cinema Co. (KNCC) & will be officially launched by H.H. Sheikh Subah Al-Ahmad, the expo will continue till the 5th of March (Sorry I wrongly said 27th on the video).

I have posted about the History of Kuwait Cinema before, but its much more interesting when you see real tickets, photos, devices & stamps

The expo gave me a lot of information about the beginning, & the development of Kuwait cinema since the 50′s.

You will be able to see photos of the old Kuwait cinema theaters along with their stories, the first projectors, the tickets, the official letters & stamps, the evolution of the logo & much more.

Can you imagine that someday back in time the cinema ticket price was only 100 fils
