I was waiting at the traffic light when this new campaign by Ministry of Justice took my attention, the campaign is actually to encourage youths to get married by stating that marriage has a higher priority than travelling, projects, car, friends, study, and a job.
My debate is how marriage is supposed to be more important that a studying and getting a job? Basically marriage is near impossible without them; not having a college degree means not getting a proper job which means low income that can lead to financial problems which in turn can end up a marriage. Also almost all families consider having a proper college degree and a good job essential criteria for marriage unless they’re referring to marriage only from biological point of view. I’m also wondering about the reason they launched this campaign, is marriage rates dropping in Kuwait? or possible divorce rates are increasing?

Last week I conducted a poll to find out about the main causes for divorce in Kuwait. The reason behind this post was to identify the reasons behind the increasing divorce rates in Kuwait to help many families and newly weds understand and find solutions.
Below is the poll result, I tried to use a pie chart to help you get a clear picture:
We can notice that the main cause is Misunderstanding & Miscommunication (24%), I agree that understanding/Communication plays the most important role in life, imagine a football team or a captain along with his crew, both need to have successful communication to win.
The 2nd cause was Marital Infidelity/Cheating (23%); plain and simple, eveything that we do is based on loyalty and faith, if we lose faith in our partner then its almost impossible to go on especially with the pain that cheating causes.
As for the 3rd cause, came the Incompatibility (18%); It could be difference in education level, origins, ideology, relgious background. I believe its always better to take sometime evaluating the differences before we tie the knot.
