Red Bull Flugtag 2010 @ Marina Crescent

Today at 1:00 pm I went to the Red Bull Flugtag @ Marina Mall crescent. This is the 2nd flying contest by Red Bull, the 1st was back in 2007. First thing I noticed was the crowd, thousands of people were there & yeah finding a parking was the impossible mission

The contest was mainly sponsored by “Wataniya Telecom” & “AL-Rai TV”. There were 30 groups that participated & each came with design.

There were also judges with different backgrounds. The rules were simple, the participants need to have a unique design, make a performance & finally try to fly the longest distance from a 6 meters high platform, & judges will give them scores accordingly.

The participants did really cool performance before they went for flying, some even did break dancing. Some of the participants: Kuwait Riders, 6aar il Habary, AMZM, Jabriya Boys, Divas, Phoenix, Ma Yehezek Ree7, Coffee Beans, Dragon Fly, Wataniya, Raykom Shabab, Scary Boy, Zebra Airways, Flying Stars, Hangout, Salut to Ibn Abbas, Club 25.. etc.

I also noticed that there was a girl flying one of those models , the atmosphere was great & the preparations too.

The 1st winner was “Dragon Fly” & received 3000 K.D, 2nd was “Divas” & received 2000 K.D & third was “Wataniya” & received 1000 K.D.

There was also a special prize for the best design. Congrats to the winners, the competition was really fun & I had a really enjoyable time

Thanks for ur coverage… i was wishing to be there but no time to go … and i hate wasting my time finding a parking lot… but it seems a very interesting event

I hope they pick a better location next year cuz obviously the marina crescent couldn’t accommodate the crowd!

I think it was sorta fun but yeah the crowd & lack of organisation made it less interesting ! I’ll check your post right now
