I read on AymStrong blog that they will organize 200 KM’s border-to-border marathon on January 2012, that would be the longest marathon ever made in Kuwait. The idea was initiated by fitness expert Yousef Al-Qanai to promote the message of empowerment by creating a sense of determination, and unity within our society and amongst Kuwait’s youth.
Currently, five runners will participate and the marathon will be non-stop for about 50 hours and there will be chance for general public to take part in the run. We at BananaQ8 wish to add that we will fully support it!
I suspect such a marathon would require extreme fitness and conditioning.

It’d be a great idea to join them but anyways I believe you’re required to be a Kuwaiti. I havn’t heard public being able to join though.
Public will be able to join them at different parts of the marathon not all, I will highlight the nationality issue I believe it would be better if anyone can join.

It will be one hell of a journey.
About the nationality issue; i would like to first clarify that this event is being sponsored by more than 5 different companies and the government them selves; which is why they have put the nationality restriction because it is a (National Event). They are planning to let a person from each club in Kuwait to join.
Alot of ideas has been on the table in regard to who is joining the run and why and how. Its how huge events gets finalized.
However, it is 200 K, not a walk in the park, but anybody is welcome to send their CV to my email: yousef@alqanai.com and i will get them to the selection team to finalize whos in and whos out by the end of Nov.
