I was waiting at the traffic light when this new campaign by Ministry of Justice took my attention, the campaign is actually to encourage youths to get married by stating that marriage has a higher priority than travelling, projects, car, friends, study, and a job.
My debate is how marriage is supposed to be more important that a studying and getting a job? Basically marriage is near impossible without them; not having a college degree means not getting a proper job which means low income that can lead to financial problems which in turn can end up a marriage. Also almost all families consider having a proper college degree and a good job essential criteria for marriage unless they’re referring to marriage only from biological point of view. I’m also wondering about the reason they launched this campaign, is marriage rates dropping in Kuwait? or possible divorce rates are increasing?

Maybe they meant to take care of the marriage and not promote people to marry?
That would make more sense.
I saw the picture too, and was also puzzled by its lack of priorities!
I wonder who came up with the idea for this stupid ad.
People in Kuwait are lazy as it is, they so don’t need any further encouragement to ditch school and work!!
Yep!
This is one of most stupid mindless ads I’ve ever seen!
Shino y3ani? I should not postpone marraige because I am studying? Is this meant for both men or women or only women? O mino beya9ref 3lehom while they are studying?
O shloon y3ni aham min elsyara? Mino beywa9el el student madam when she is about to give birth to the hospital? The buses?
Marriage is hard and not for everyone. People who want to get married must be ready at least with a job y3ni. People must WANT to get married, must want to work on making the marriage go smoothly. We don’t have a problem with people getting married, we have a problem keeping them married because of the pressure from families for people to get married when they are not ready and then they are thrust into a pyramid of responsibility half heartedly. ISn’t it enough that the society and parents are nagging on people’s heads all the time to get married ’3a9ob 6eeb? Like they are not married fa they are missing a limb? Yaya wezarat el3adel et7en wyahom? 7eta el parents y7enoon after their children graduate min el college o get a job!
’3a9ob 6eeb 3arsaw. Bel 6agag derasatkom o wathefatkom o wanasatkom. En7akraw bel marriage ’3a9ob o te6alegaw in less than a year because you weren’t ready. Esh hal 7ala?
Mo9akha o 9arf floos bdoon da3i. I have yet to see one person who agrees with this mindless campaign.
This is one of the most logical things I have witnessed the government doing in my 2 years being here. I believe the reason they are promoting people to bring marriage into their lives is due to the fact if we see today there are may sex changes happeing, many unethical behavior and wrong attitude about marriage and life people carry around us today.
It is not trying to convince us to get married in a rush and forget other obligations, however IT is trying to convey a message stating if you can and are able do your best to enter a marriage.. Today we see people worried about things like focusing on increase of salary, want to study further, want to buy this car, etc.. This keeps us away from thinking of a marriage (While these things can also be accomplished while being married but we ignore it hence becoming influenced by our peers and social circle and society and give into the demands of wrongful flirting, wrongful parties which go further than just a ‘party’ and other destructive behavior which is why today there is no peace but war annd a fire in everyones soul.
Did I make any sense?
‘Source? Divorced :P
Surely being jobless could only add to the divorce rates here.
I totally agree with everything Dnaderma said …. besides, isn’t the divorce rate in Kuwait very high??? If people started believing in this campaign I assure you the divorce rate will jump even higher… instead of promoting of getting married, they should promote on how to keep a marriage solid and strong, that way they would decrease the divorce rate.
How will I get married without a degree? How will I have a decent job? How will I provide the things we need?
Stupid Ad. I think its because of the increase in divorce rate.

you dont need a degree to get married, i just have a highschool diploma and im married. i have a descent job and im very happy in it. plus i think the ad means that people already married should keep it as priority. this is due to the high divorce rates. i just think they portrayed the ad in a wrong way making people think otherwise. but hey, just an opinion.
“marriage has a higher priority than travelling, projects, car friends, study, and a job” w..WAIT…marriage is more important than CARS?! NO WAY…!?
