Several friends of mine are sending me photos for some rain flooding in far areas south of Kuwait such as Fahahaeel, Mangaf, Wafra, and Ahmadi, the streets are drowning in some locations because they have lower elevations and seemingly the drainage system and manholes are not well maintained. Also weather experts have reported that heavier rain fall is expected later tonight or tomorrow, so be cautious if you are heading to these areas. I hope the Ministry of Public works have made the required maintenance for the drainage system to sustain heavy rain so flooding doesn’t occur like what happened back in 1997.
Update: I got photos for slight flooding occurred in some areas of Kuwait yesterday due to the rain.

I live in Mangaf. Though the rain is heavy and road are somewhat filled with water, I dont think there is any chance for flooding.
Thanks for the reassuring news Tuan, in Kuwait City things are fine so far but I saw several pix for flooded roads in south of Kuwait.
i remember the floods of 97, my dad’s half an hour ride to work – salmiya to shuwaikh took over 6 hours and he only got to kuwait city, he ended up having to leave the car in city nd takin the bus back home, hope it wont be that bad this time.
Someone post Abbasiya pix ! :P
Its a weirdo place in Kuwait. or is it just me?
It’s the dirtiest place in Kuwait, imo.
I’m in Mahbola, it’s muddy i tell you but thank god they almost finished most of the roads there!
with all the money spent on maintaining those roads, only contractors are to blame
