As I predicted in my post dated September 02, 2011, I just received marvelous news that mobile numbers transfer between the three operators in Kuwait (Zain, VIVA, Wataniya) will very soon be possible, I was waiting for this since ever! The charge for number tranfser is KD5 and the whole process takes no more than 24 hours.

I will get you the full details like how, where, and when customers can transfer their phone numbers.

Note: Below is a poll we are conducting to see which of the three operators (Zain, Viva, Wataniya) is the one that most people would like to transfer their current numbers to.

Update: I read on the paper that numbers transfer will begin by end of April 2013.

There is a company named National Technology Enterprises Company that will be responsible for processing the transfer applications, the charge is KD5 and takes 24 hours.

  6. Q8rogue says:

I guess now everyone wants to change his operator for the sake of change :S

  7. This will cause a chaos for the company who will get the more
transfered users , Don’t really know if thier server will hold that amount of new users or it won’t be able to provide the same quality services as it was before !!

  8. Asad says:

I personally think zain is the best, they ll wellcome new users like they are doing already, and they are upgrading there network already.

  9. Q8 Insight says:

i will remain loyal customer of wataniya bcoz as far as i heard zain and viva sometime put some extra amount in ur bill but i never get this problem with wataniya :) i only pay for wut i use………..

  10. Asad says:

I am using zain from almost 16 yrs, but never got a single complain about billing, checking my daily minute to minute usage on internet, they didnt put a sigle extra fills yet.

  11. bob says:

lol @ all the zain, wataniya, and viva workers posting mini ads in comments on blogs.

  12. ahmed says:

Don’t get excited guys, the ministry has not set a date for the transfer, which makes the whole damn thing a sham. Simply IT WILL NOT HAPPEN.

  13. Nasser says:

There is no way im getting Zain!! They cap their internet services like crazy!! It would have gotten more votes if they had better services, they are like Microsoft they pay for advertisement more than their products :/

    • G-Funk says:

Ever Carrier caps their internet! not a single carrier in Kuwait or in the World for that matter leaves you un capped!!

  14. Nasser says:

    Wataniya/VIVA for life Zain..</3

  15. Nasser says:

Oh and secondly…they want you to pay extra if you reached the cap limit to get the speed back up….appppppsh your telling me thats good service :O

  16. Nasser says:

VIVA and Wataniya does not do that sort of ‘service’ :)

  17. G-Funk says:

The only good thing that comes out of all of this is that carries are going to start competing to keep their customers! which means more services, reduced prices !! let’s wait and see!
