So iPhone 5 finally was finally unveiled, I had to sit at home and wait until Apple event takes place and the question that we all ask now; is it worth the wait? Well I’m here to help you find the answer. The funny part is that the official iPhone 5 looks similar to the one that was leaked in a video last week, ok so now let’s talk about the specs shall we?

Dimensions & Display: It’s clearly thinner (7.6mm), lighter (112 grams, iPhone 4S weighed 140 grams) because it’s made from aluminum, and taller than iPhone 4s. The screen is bigger (4 inch) and uses Retina display with resolution of 1136 by 640 pixels. They say display will be crystal clear and has more color-depth.

Processor: iPhone 5 uses the new A6 CPU (quad-core) which is faster than the older A5 chip in iPhone 4S. So iPhone 5 will run applications and games faster.

iOS: iPhone 5 will use iOS 6 which will be officially released on 19th of September.

Camera: 8-megapixels with 3,264 x 2,448 pixels, that’s similar to iPhone 4S.

Sim Card: It will use sim card called  ”Nano” which is smaller and thinner than the micro, I read that Wataniya and Viva have announced that such sim card will be available soon.

Colors: Comes in white and black (so like before), though I wished if Apple made it available in more colors.

Release Date: It will be available in the U.S, U.K, Canada, Germany, Japan on 21st of September, so we can order it via Apple UK and ship it to Kuwait via any mail forwarding service.

Price: Most probably cost will be similar to iPhone 4s when it was first launched ($199- $399).

Verdict: iPhone 5 does in fact look different from previous iPhone’s, but the biggest advantage (LTE 4G network) which provides 100 Mbps download rate won’t work in Kuwait because we don’t yet have local 4G network.

  4. sohail says:

No even if excite releases it in kuwait, trust me from my personal (4s) experience prices will differ for any iphone model by 50 kd. This will go on for atleast one month from the official release date or may be more depending on the availibility of iphone 5 & local demand.

  5. Abu Rayyan says:

Meh so disapointing i was really hoping they bring something really exciting but nothing at all interesting….
    So my opinion is meh….

    • Tazmania says:

I partially agree, iPhone 5 has been enhanced, looks better, faster, neater but it didn’t bring something totally new. Maybe the iOS6 will? let’s wait and see.

      • Abu Rayyan says:

i don’t expect a lot with an OS that prevent you from downloading from the net, that tie you up when you want to back up your data by using their Itunes…

with all that said, even thou people will sure still go buy it only to hold the half eaten apple logo in their hands…

  6. Mohd says:

iPhone 5 is basically iPhone 4S with new ios6 and bigger screen.. im really disappointed

    • Tazmania says:

There are new added features; 4G LTE, it’s thinner & lighter, bigger screen, better display, faster cpu. But yes I expected more and LTE won’t work in Kuwait, not yet.

  7. Darkwolf80s says:

The phone is a joke. Not worth it. But I wouldn’t be surprised people that own an iPhone 4 or 4s will still buy it because they’re sheeps. Can you say “baaaaaaaa!” :p

Honestly if I want a new phone or a change from Android I’d go for the new Nokia phone.

    • Tazmania says:

the baaaa thing got me ROFL :p tell you a little secret… the only iPhone I ever got was a gift (iPhone4) :P the little trick NOKIA tried to fool us with for their new phone camera made me drop them from the to-buy-list.

  8. AhmeDeco says:

Sure it doesn’t worth it , there’s no 1 feature impressed me… all the new features exist in galaxy S2 not even 3…
    waiting for IOS 7 :P

  9. JASIM says:

    • Tazmania says:

It will be available in the U.S, U.K, Canada, Germany, Japan on 21st of September, we can order it via Apple UK and ship it to Kuwait, but I think it will be sold in Kuwait by end of this month of early October (just my guess).

best thing for me is the reversible port!!!

  15. Nasser says:

People are not looking at the bigger picture. Why change a design of a the hardware or software drastically, when both are really excellent? I used a S2 for a week, and I did not like it. I used a note for about 3 months, and I hated it. I feel really comfortable working with the iPhone. People who like iPhones, will buy iPhones. People who like Samsung, will buy from Samsung, it’s as simple as that. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to hate it.

  16. abdulaziz says:

ill wait for nokia lumia 920 !

  17. droidboy says:

Samsung galaxy s3 The best…… iphone 5 is the refinement not an innovation and apple is ohhh sorry was famous for innovation

  18. bo nasser says:

don’t worth the wait,,,apple don’t care about the customers,, we have the right to choose between the softwares, downloads from google or other websites,,, even we cannot change the battery!!,,no SD card!! ,, no NFC technology (data transmission that is done through radio communication, so all you have to do is touch the two things (your phone,a poster or another phone) or bring them next to each other for it to work.) ,, she like put us in a jail and u can’t go out,,all these features r in the galaxy s3….

    gonna buy the S3

The iPhone 5 is a touchscreen-based smartphone developed by Apple Inc.. It is the sixth generation of the iPhone and succeeds the iPhone 4S. The phone is a slimmer, lighter model that introduces a higher-resolution, 4-inch screen to the series with 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. The phone also includes a custom-designed ARMv7 processor called the Apple A6, an update to Apple’s mobile operating system known as iOS 6, and support for LTE.*;*..
