I got my hands on iPhone 5 and had the chance to play with it at X-Cite. I can say that my initial impression was positive; it was light and fits in one hand, also the screen looked sharp and applications ran fast and smoothly. The camera was similar to iPhone 4S, I also noticed that the charging socket became smaller and there was the Nano sim socket on the side, we need them before we can use the iPhone 5 in Kuwait, I’m guessing that local operators will bring them sometime this week, hopefully. There were two colors; black and white and personally I favored the black.
I will make full review when I receive my own iPhone 5.
Update: The iPhone 5 is now available between KD335-KD360 – 16GB version.

Makes lot of sense to me. I think the price will drop in a few weeks so patience shall be rewarded at this time.
I have the iPhone 4s and I wouldn’t pay 5 KD for the iPhone 5. This is just my opinion but it’s not worth it. The only thing I like about the iPhone is the Apps but the battery life and other issues turn me off.

It is cheaper in the US because the US models are locked to the telco carriers and you have to be on a contract..The shelf price for it is still $1000 USD… so in Kuwait you have to pay shelf price plus shipping plus insurance plus 5% Kuwaiti custom duties…. hence the high price
