The Canadian smart phone manufacturer “RIM” had launched the latest edition to BlackBerry family, BlackBerry – Bold Touch 9900/9930. The bold was the most favorable BlackBerry by many, including myself.
I noticed that some of the new specs include: 1.2 Ghz processor, 768 MB ram, 5mp camera, OS 7, 8 GB internal storage memory, LED flash, 2.8 in touch screen, 720 HD video recording. Now comes the big question: Will it survive among the iPhone & Android phones ?

Yeah I’m also gonna ditch my BB torch 9800 (its horrible on many aspects) and try the BB 9900 inshallah.

I think these new Blackberries have a great chance despite of the iPhones and Androids out there.
As a phone and sms device, you can’t bet a nokia and a BB. iPhone s& Androids are great web surfers, internet gadgets, and overall online communicator…. But still, if you wanted a great phone, there’s no substitute for a Nokia or a BB.
I know BB touch-screens are bad when compared to other Touch-screens out there in the market. But since these new BBs come with a QWERTY KB, I don’t see the touch-screens as anything but a positive edition to a great phone.
I have to confise that I am a very late adopter of BBs. But since I got mine last year, I can’t imagine my life without one. As an email manager, blogging device, and camera\blog interaction; you can’t beat the BB.
That’s why I can’t wait till I get my hands on a new one
You made some very valid points Buz Fairy, I agree that these are some of the key points that makes BlackBerry yet-sill-successful in this regard.
But with people seeking out more apps, friendly internet browsing, simple touch screen, high-end specs,, BB fails to achieve them.
I’ve witnessed numerous BB users convert to Androids and iPhone. I think BBM still represents one of the major reason why people (myself too) still hold on using BB, this also explains why RIM never think of launching BBM on iPhone.
BBM has more security, privacy than say WhatsApp.
Let’s hope that the new BB 9900/9930 have great features and specs, and of course more apps.
