Have you wondered why some people eat so much yet they remain slim? Why some people gain weight even when they eat little? I received this video for a Kuwaiti specialist in genetics from Kuwait University explaining the effects of genes on weight loss and diet.

informative thanks
Most welcome
I applaud to this guy for stepping up and saying what should’ve been said by a long time ago by a lot of the dietitians that we have here whom have excluded this important piece of information when they have a client that pays a lot money to lose weight and don’t see the results they wanted.
It’s true that genes do play a role if someone wants to lose weight. I myself have done countless of diets and all have failed up until I started to categorizing and organizing my food based on the food pyramid chain. By doing that and consuming the food in its natural form I started listening to my body and what it demands. I kid you not, there are times where I subconsciously ignored something and pick that same thing over and over again which is fish. But also I did happen to have a habit for sweets which is a bad thing. However, to satisfy my sweet craving, I’ve switched that to frozen fruits, sweet potato, raw honey, fresh apples etc (you get the idea). The key is to switch things slowly from the bad stuff the food that is processed to natural food. Basically think and eat in caveman style.
But I fear that ignorant/lazy people will now use this as an excuse for not losing weight or claim that they are *Cartman’s voice* “I’M JUST BIG BONES!” And alas, end up in doing silly body surgery which leaves a huge scare the type that would make you think Freddy Krueger slashed you. Or revert to taking anabolic steroids to change their DNA a little just to have that fake body they’ve always dreamed off.
I know I’ve said a lot but this is the reality and I hope to change that soon inshalla.
& I applaud you for bringing a lot of essential facts about diet and weight loss, yes most dietitians try to keep the genes part hidden to keep the money flow with more and more consultancies, but again like you said surgeons will be happy when a lot of people get frustrated knowing that they were destained to have slow metabolism or in other words fat burning process to perform more surgeries that leave many with unsighlty scars that also need fixation!
People most be smart enough to learn more about their body types and how genes can effect their body composition and metabolism so they can learn how to tweak their diets and get maximum results. Thanks for your informative feedback bro.
I have written an article before about body types & workout, hope you can find it useful:

Read the article. Very nicely written! It’s important to know what type of body you are to help you get going with your diet. I’m an endomorph and things were not easy but it does have a rewarding benefite in bodybuilding. Lucky for you’re a mesomorph *jealous* :P. I constantly refer back to this basic info for new comers who want to engage in the healthy lifestyle.
The article also brings a point I constantly tell people and warn them about the diet food companies we have here. Sure these companies make “healthy diet food” but what they don’t tell you is if that food is for you. For example, as body builder, i need something that has a lot of protein with good amount of carbs, therefore i would pick Diet Care spaghetti meat as a quick meal to take on the go. So that once I’ve consume it I have the sufficient energy that I needed to hit the gym and lift weights.
However, a person who is fat, walks into a co-op and wants something that’s diet friendly would pick the spaghetti meat as his/her perfered choice of gilt free food when in truth that person picked the wrong type of food to begin with. That’s why I tell everyone to know your body before heading out and doing any kind of shopping. Especially when aiming to eat in any of these diet food companies for a quick bite because the food they provide is not for everyone.
