Who do you think is more tidy and organized, Men or Women? I was finishing some paper work at one of the governmental authorities and came across two desks (one for a man and other for a lady) and its kinda funny how they looked totally different, I think the same applies for bedrooms.

On the other hand, I think men cars are much more neat than the ones owned by the fairer sex.

I’ve seen some bad, good and annoying desks. Don’t remember which ministry but you would find something similar like this even the private sector as well.

Some of the desks I’ve seen had all anime and manga stuff that you would see in a Rehab complex store. The other had similar pink deco like the one above except minus the butterfly, rug and that big heart but instead she had a collection of perfumes/manicure set on the side. The other guys desk I kid you not it’s like walking into one of these Islamic shops where you would want to purchase the holy quran, prayer beads or zam zam water.

Here’s my take, we all like to show off our personality in our work desk deco which is totally understandable but it needs to be kept at a minimum and not abused. That’s because it does paint a picture of who you really are.

Keep it minimal and don’t make it like your own home room. Things that would be an eye catcher or a conversational starter like a sports trophy, a small fish bowl, a certificate in scuba diving, an interesting photo of yourself or family in Disney World or a photo of yourself with a group of beach clean up.

In any work environment whether you’re in ministry or private you don’t want to give too much info about yourself. Otherwise it can against you.

Let me start off by saying I’m a woman and I absolutely hate the tackiness of women who “decorate” their offices like that. It’s like something out of legally blonde. I automatically judge the person and assume they are not professional and probably are clueless about their work. I know this might not be true, but that’s what the desk suggests.

Same thing with doctors. I walked into Amiri hospital a couple of weeks back and saw some female doctors in colored high heels, full makeup, hair done and lots of jewelery.
I do not trust these doctors. If she is a doctor and cannot dress like one and act like one, I cannot treat her as such. So automatically to me, those ladies have no idea what they’re doing, and in this case (unlike the desk situation) I lose all respect for them to associate the medical profession with Barbie.
