I was heading back home on Fahaheel express way with my tummy rumbling after long working day and saw The Village was near so I decided to have lunch in any of the restaurants there, on the back side there was a small new burger joint called “Junkyard” so I’d to give it a quick try. Actually it’s the name “Junkyard” that made me curious to try it, there was a small outdoor seating area and inside it was small and actually looked like a junk yard.
The waiter said it’s from the same owners of The Kitchen restaurant. The menu was small too, they serve 5 types of burgers in addition to hot dogs, starters and sides and some salads. For starters I picked their chicken tenders which tasted good with the honey mustard dipping sauce. As for burgers I tried their Street Classic which is double patty and comes with cheese, lettuce and chopped onions; I noticed the bun and patties were both small in size, the taste was good in general but the beef didn’t meet my expectations maybe because my standards were too high to begin with? They said they get beef from New Zealand. I think it would be great if they serve say wagyu beef or Angus. As for the French fries, it tasted good. My check came KD6.350 including a diet soda.
