If there’s something that’s really interesting about Kuwait then it would the restaurants and food experience, many of my foreign friends said that Kuwait is the place to be if you want to enjoy delicious food. Recently we have observed that the new trend in Kuwait is the food courts, several years ago we only had Bida’a strip, later Spoons came and now many more are popping up.

Levels Food Destination (See above): This is is located in Mangaf area right beside the sea and takes the shape of a long strip, there will be several restaurants opening.

The Cube: Located at Salem Mubarak street in Salmiyah and owned by AL Fawares Holding, I think it will take the shape of a cube with several restaurants and will open by end of 2013 I heard.

Arabella: Situated next to Radisson SAS hotel, its a European-styled project with restaurants including Altissimo, Long Horn Steak House, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Pizzeria Margherita, MBCO, Semsom, Deer&Dear among others.

Typhoon: Located by Fahaheel express way at Abu Hassaniya next to The Village with area of 5,000 square meter and expected to open on October, I’m not yet sure what are the restaurants.

This isn’t everything because I spotted another two restaurant courts in Mangaf and Abu Hulaifa by the corniche road and seems they will open soon but I’m not sure about the names.

The one in Al-Mangaf near the Hilton is called Menus, which is the picture before the last. The last picture is for the restaurant complex in Road 209 (currently called Salem Subah Al-Salem Street). It’s right before Spoons. Restaurants in Kuwait = $$$

The food experience is only enjoyed when you’re having a FOOD EXPERIENCE.
The restaurants we have in kuwait are almost all ranked as Fast food.
Maybe 1% can give you a true food experience, the rest just to please your hungry stomach :)

Nice but hopefully we’ll see new restaurants and not just recitations, thanks

And I have to disagree with you a little. If foreigners want to travel somewhere in the GCC and say that they’ve had the best food, then I won’t say Kuwait is the spot. Bahrain’s restaurants, even small cafes, are very very very good. I would say Bahraini restuarants (and perhaps some Riyadh places too) serve the best foods in the GCC, even better than Dubai.

A great concept but why do most of these places look out over the parking lot or congested roads? Who wants to sit amid all the exhaust fumes and dust? Is it to admire the latest Ferrari, Porsche, Harley etc, that pulls up outside and parks wherever they please?

kuwait is starting to become the world catering center…

People love to eat; it’s not like there’s that much else to do other than shop. Instead of bars, restaurants/cafes are where people meet to hang out.

Plus most of the people are willing to spend money on food regardless of price. But there is now lack of originality (so many burger joints/japanese food/frozen yogurt etc).
