Hello Kitty Restaurant & Cafe has finally opened in Bida’a, my secret source called me in the morning and told me they are opening today at 4:30 PM so I went to check it out and taste some of their dishes. Outside there was a seating area that I suppose would be nice in evening since weather is amazing nowadays, and inside it was medium sized and built on two levels. I liked the Hello Kitty themed interior design though I expected more thrilling decorations.
They told me I was their first ever customer, the staff were also dressed with Hello Kitty themed custom. I asked for the menu but sadly they said they opened a few minutes ago and it’s not yet available, but they said that they serve cakes, ice cream, pasta, pizza, steak, hot & cold drinks among other dishes. The food presentation was excellent, the pinkish colored Hello Kitty cakes looked cute.
I asked the chef if they can serve me with a few dishes to taste, sadly they said they can only give me little bites from their cakes because they are still preparing the kitchen, the little samples tasted good, I personally favored the Tiramisu.
Most of the their cakes were priced KD 0.500 fils to KD1.700 ,I know many were waiting for Hello Kitty restaurant-to open (since it’s the first one in the region) and wanted a full review but I promise to check their food sometime soon, the restaurant will be softly opened today so you can go and tell us what you think.

I was the first one to get the special invitation to visit it before any one a day before its opening and I was the first one to drink their juice and coffee which is something I will always be proud of for the rest of my life. I took my kids on Saturday. We got there at 3:15 and found out they open at 4. We asked to look at the menu to see if its worth the wait and saw that they had a good variety, so we waited in the car. At about 3:50 we went back and waited outside with about 5 or 6 families in a humid weather. They opened their doors at 4:05 and we all rushed inside for cool air, and only to be surprised that they were NOT ready to serve us and can only accomodate Take-Out orders of cakes only. I don’t need to say how pissed off I was (as well as other families) and can’t describe the look of disappointment on my little girls’ faces.
When they saw that there were more 25 people waiting outside, nobody bothered to open the door and let us wait in their air cooled waiting area. Nobody bothered to come out and say to us “hey by the way, we can only serve take outs, and you can only get cake”. Even the guy who showed us the menu 50 minutes earlier didn’t say that they will only serve cake for take out.
It was a total waste of a full hour of our afternoon. Kids were starving and we kept on telling them to wait until they got cranky, and then had to leave without eating.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience with HK restaurant, at the time we were there the menu was not yet ready but they said it will be ready for customers and that they can serve cakes and food. I’ll try my best to deliver your message to their management so they couldtake an action.
Had a very bad experience visiting this place which we thought it must be wonderful…very poor menu,eventhough all what you request from it you will hear:sorry it is finished for today,while it was still 9pm and not crowded,dirt was overfilling under the table,you will order pepsi as per the menu,they will serve you coke from a 2 liters bottle with no flavor,we found hair in the pasta and asked to exchange it,the manager with so dirty shirt replied:this hair is from the mushroom,while it was obvious it is CURLY HAIR,,,then they accepted to exchange it,but all they did is heating the same plate in microwave,which i marked to be sure they exchange,,,just added little cheese and the pasta dried due to microwaving and became like dried bones…they mention in the menu hello kitty potato cake with the chicken,to discover that it is just french fries to be offered…
staff are so unoriented on what is available and what is not,all what u ask they will go inside to check if available or no…when we informed the owner sitting on the door welcoming people,she just shook her head,we didn’t even hear a sorry word,as if talking to the wall,even we showed her all the garbage and dirt and showed her everything…will never repeat my visit,,,and do not advise anyone to visit or else expect the worse…SORRY HELLO KITTY,but must advise …
