I passed by the new Chocolate Bar branch that was opened today at Al Hamra mall for a quick lunch after work, this is their 5th branch in Kuwait and its nicely designed like the others. They also launched new chocolate plates along with the opening, there was an outside seating area in the center of the mall.
Chocolate Bar is one of the successful Kuwaiti-concept restaurants, I think they opened in Dubai? Am I right?

If its the one in Dubai mall above Fauchon then it’s terrible.
Imagine this.
I was craving Chocolate Fondant the other day in Dubai Mall.
I kept thinking where where where would I find proper chocolate fondant then I remembered Chocolate Bar.
Walked in. Was seated by the manager. Asked him what they’re speciality was and to my happiness they said Chocolate Fondant.
What more could I ask for?
So I specifically ask for my espresso to come with Chocolate Fondant.
No more than 6 minutes later a waiter brings my espresso. I say, surprised, but I asked for the coffee with the dessert. He smiled and said here it is.
O_O haa??
How can you bake a Chocolate Fondant in 5 minutes?
Ohh no sir he said with a huge smile.
We microwave it.
Call the manager right now !!! I said.
Why are you microwaving it??
You’re a chocolate cafe. You said your speciality was CF!
You’re supposed to bake it like mOre Cafe or the other reputable places. And those places are not even chocolate dedicated cafes. You, being a chocolate cafe, should bake it.
Needless to say I walked out disgusted and left the microwaved CF for them.
Sorry to hear about your experience with Dubai Mall chocolate bar, I never tried their chocolate fondant before but I never knew they actually just heat it with microwave?
I’ll try to contact the management and forward your experience so they can improve their service and quality, baked CF will taste fresh, otherwise I can buy it ready made and heat it at home and voila!
chocolate bar dubai is totally different than the one in kuwait, different owners and different menu

The Chocolate Bar mentioned in the post is the official Chocolate Bar. We are not associated to any other “The Chocolate Bar” outside of the state of Kuwait
Thanks for your reply and clarification, we’ll inform the visitor that the Dubai Mall Chocolate Bar has nothing to do with one in Kuwait.
