I wanted to try the softly-opened restaurant at Beda’a, The Butcher’s Den, which is the first Kuwaiti-concept steakhouse restaurant by chef Ahmad Al Bader.

Currently it opens from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm, I arrived there and found a good table, inside it was medium-sized and simply decorated but I think the decorations can be further improved.

The menu was simple too, but I noticed orders had no description so I needed the server’s help. They serve burgers, salads, chips, appetizers, sweets but their main specialty are steaks.

It was cute how they brought me a candy for the appetizers on the house. I could feel Ahmad Al Bader touch in every plate they serve.

Appetizers

Shrimp cocktail: The shrimp was tasty but I didn’t favor the sauce.

White & Green Asparagus: Its a vegetable and taste was average.

They brought different colors knives to choose from, nice. Sadly they ran-out of wagyu steak, so I picked their organic fillet prime cuts steak and asked to have it medium well.

I picked their pepper mushroom sauce (tasty). The steak tasted great but was slightly dry.

My check was KD20.300, generally I liked the Butcher’s Den and will visit it again sometime.

Address: Beda’a, nearby Melenzane restaurant.

Phone: 22263140

How can you order a steak medium well and then say it was dry? Of course it is, you ordered it overdone to begin with. I look forward to trying this place very soon though…

One sure fire way to find appetizers that will get the job doneis to use copycat restaurant recipes. These recipes have beendeveloped by skilled chefs that mimic some of the best entrees, appetizers and desserts from America’s most popular restaurants.”
