I invited myself to the newly opened Indian restaurant Moti Mahal Delux (See I’m getting addicted to Indian food), its located next to Johnny Carino’s on Gulf road. In the same location there were two before; Big Al’s and The Noodle House and both closed, I even thought that this location is jinxed.
I’m noticing many Indian restaurants opening in Kuwait but I don’t mind it. Inside it was medium-size and decorations were simple with Indian touch, though I liked the slow Indian music playing in the background and the sea view. I picked the menu and saw the traditional Indian dishes, mostly tandoori.
I started with lentil soup (light and tasted good), then I ordered spicy chicken tikka (taste was good) and coupled it with steam rice.
The few plates that I tasted were good, the service level was fine. My check came KD6.650 which is reasonable.
I’ll have another visit for Moti Mahal and will try other plates. Question is, will Moti Mahal survive or fail like the others?

I’m liking your cheat day reviews lately
It will for sure do well if it can offer the same taste and quality it offers in New Delhi India (They opened their first outlet in New Delhi). They also offer some amazing butter chicken along with sizzling tikkas but again – I hope they can keep the that alive!

i tried the tomato soup (delicious) u can fell the flavours in it
also the chicken beryiani was nise and tasty but the dish is small :P not enough for 2 persons
chicken tikka was nise 2
chicken makhni was good also
the service was good
i tried rice pudding sweet i didnt like it much
but overall the resturant was very good i will try it again

Finally tried it guys:-) Murg makhani (Butter chicken) was gr8; reminded me of my last meal at Moti Mahal Delhi Delux a couple of months back which was awesome. Mutton Rogan Josh (Curry) was not that easy to chew as they had used new zealand lamb which was not tender enough but the gravy was nice. Alot of Mutton dishes were not available as they r still searching for a good supplier.
Good variety of breads (Roomali roti is a must try) with chicken tikka and Tandoori chicken. Rice pudding was decent but could have been better if they had put some grounded pistachio, cardamom and saffron for that extra richness and taste. Dining area was well set but with passage of time, they will feel that they need more space. Overall exp: 8/10

Sorry to say, but this is the worst Indian Restaurant i have ever tried … The soups were too bland and watery and the chicken soup was stinky …. THEY WERE RETURNED
We ordered a the Green Salad which is supposed to be greens with tomato and red onion and we got a plate of Carrots & Cucumbers!!!!
The Chicken was bland and was not marinated at all and there was no spice to it at all although we ordered medium spicy…
Butter chicken wasn’t nice, again bland and no spices at all….
The chicken Biryani was more like eating a chinese dish of steamed rice & chicken TASTELESS…..
Overall it was a horrible experience, never again
We love Indian food and we always like to try new restaurants …. BIG MISTAKE …..
We almost ate nothing and from the few spoons i ate to try out the food …. got severe stomach cramps …
I don’t think they will continue for long …. the restaurant was also rather empty …. actually it was empty only us and later a couple walked in …

Dude, u need to seriously check your taste buds immedaitely….. this place has real good food/try it & be genuine, u sound more like a business competitor here.
