I came across this new published study titled The World Richest Countries 2011 by Forbes Magazine stating that Kuwait has ranked #15, the study looked on the average income per year for an individual.

As in above table Qatar came in first place and was named as world’s richest country 2011 with average income about $88,222 (24, 200 KD). Forbes explains that Qatar, Kuwait, and United Arab Emirates have made such wealth because of the current high prices of oil, I think what also helps is the relatively small population.

I wounder what will happen when the oil supplements are reduced like in Saudi Arabia and so many other countries!

unfortunately, the only major source that Kuwait depends on is Petrol! Kuwait must search for another alternatives and start to invest. I realise that every mall and business in Kuwait is owned by someone not by the government. even the hospitals!!! and this is something really weird which never happen outside!

The International Monetary Fund ranks Kuwait as # 12 and the World Bank places Kuwait as # 5. so, these lists are not definite. Besides, most of the countries placed above Kuwait in Forbes’ list suffer from inflation. I know a family in Qatar who told me that their salaries are high because inflation is high. You can’t imagine how expensive these countries are. In the case of Ireland, it suffers from a malfunctioned economy and is economically ruined. Taz is right! If you are going to list countries based on ‘net’ wealth, then Kuwait would rank higher. Still, الحمدلله والشكر لك يا رب على النعمة

You are right Bu Jwais the study published by Forbes looked solely at GDP per capita and used International Monetary Fund data from 2010 which can be inaccurate and its neither accounting the inflation rate nor the total reserves or bulk wealth, otherwise I think Kuwait will score in the top five.

It’s always interesting to read lists, but normally they miss something. Lists seem to cause bipolar views snd this attracts attention to the publisher of aforementioned list.
