Imagine that you can download 24 GB Blu-ray movie in less than a minute, how would that feel? I came across this new Internet service by QualityNet so-called VDSL 2 with speed up to 100 Mbps, I tested it on Speedtest.net and it was really fast.
They said it will be available in two weeks with a cost exceeding K.D 1700/year, I can imagine the look on your face when you saw the figure.
too bad 75% of kuwait can only get 1-2mbps.
whats the point of having these 8mbps and 100mbps if no one can use it.
They said the new 100 Mbps service will be available to everyone within two weeks though the price tag won’t be affordable to anyone.

cant be available to everyone if the phone line can only handle 2mbps. theres no fibre in most of kuwait. so really no point. i dont want 100mbps. i just want 4 at least. Maybe in 4 years
You’re right bob, only a fibre optic ready line can handle such high speeds and fiber optic network did not cover all Kuwait areas as of yet so I guess we have to wait till further improvements are completed.
For now we can only dream of how such speed can change our definition for Internet experience.
its good to see that they have the capability, they just need to work on allowing people to make use of it. i mean its 2012. Its time for change.
1st no one is using the service so it most be fast , just like for example “mada” when it started
2nd in Europe and America they have such speed for 20$ so… am speechless
people need to understand difference between Bits and Bytes first before doing comparisons.
1 Byte = 8 Bits
so 100 Mega Bits Per Sec = 12.5 Mega Bytes per Sec if there is one User and perfect wireless conditions.
Companies are making people fool. VIVA offering 42.2 Mbps at 18KD and others ( Gulf-net, Quality-net, KEMS) offering 5 Mbps at above 25 KD monthly on average. confused Right ?? Thats what they want !!!

Its not 10 Mbps its 100 Mbps [ideal situation), you are right I’m exaggerating but 24 GB can be downloaded in 4 mins to be exact.

If companies wish to come up with good speed they have to come with good prices as well!
What’s the point of having a super fast speed but in very high price I mean come on its a personal use unless if you are going to invest this service spending money in order to get more money !!
