A friend of mine has just got the new Microsoft Surface which is now available in Kuwait for KD199 (Sold for $500 online) at X-Cite online store and will arrive to other stores in Kuwait shortly, yes it took Microsoft too long to make a move. I heard mixed opinions and reviews about it, I noticed it’s bigger and slightly heavier (0.56 KGs) than Apple iPad and has 10.6 inch wide HD display with resolution of 1366 x 768, the screen looked clear. It’s powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and comes in 32GB or 64GB versions.
It has Windows 8 RT OS installed which is a special version of Windows 8 specialized for phones and tablets. There were two 720HD cameras; one in front and other on back for audio and video calls, I liked the design and the idea of having optional external keyboard for typing. Battery life lasts for 6-8 hrs depending on the type of usage, downsides in my opinion is that there were a few apps installed and the Windows RT cannot run normal Windows 8 apps, also the camera picture quality is poor.
So what do you think guys? Is it worth the money?
