I got a chance to try out the softly-opened Nestlé Toll House Cafe at Marina Crescent, I was hesitated at first because I knew there will be lots of calories and sweets that will make me die of guilt but a day of enjoyment isn’t bad.

Their first branch was opened a few months ago at The Village in Abu Hassaniya, the Marina branch on the other hand is closer to Kuwait city, bigger and had nicer decorations and seating area.

They had a variety of cookies in different forms and sizes; which is their specialty plus they had semi sweet morsels, I also saw they now serve cakes and crepes which I didn’t see before.

They basically have six kinds of cookies that are freshly baked on daily basis, I liked how they sell a bag of day old cookies half the price.
Customers can also customize their cookies for various occasions. In addition to cookies, they also have cold and hot drinks, cup cakes, brownies, ice cream and to my surprise they also have frozen yogurt with different toppings.
We were told that their cookies have zero trans fat and lower calories which gave me some relief.
I liked the ambient and cookies that were served, the staff were also handy and friendly. Generally, Nestlé Toll House Cafe is a fine addition to cafe shops in Kuwait, we encourage our visitors to try it and give us their feedback and share their thoughts!
Address: Marina Crescent – Salmiyah.

Its been a while since I passed by The Village in Abu Al Hassany area so I went with friends for lunch and saw a number of new restaurants and cafe’s, this place is becoming a hot spot in Kuwait.

Aztega: A new authentic Mexican restaurant that is to be open at the end of February. I heard the owner is a Mexican lady who lives in Kuwait, and the chef is also Mexican. That’s great because I never tried Mexican food and Aztega seems promising.

Gelatissimo: I think its a Italian franchise cafe that offers hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, snacks, sweets..etc.

Wow: Kuwait-based concept for catering a variety of sweets, cakes, ice-cream, breads, and pastries, I tried some of their their cakes and swiss chocolates and liked it, their other branch is located at Sharq.

I was having my coffee at Life With Cacao earlier today and saw that they have this new cute idea to use chocolate to wrap gifts to look like an egg similar to those Kinder Surprise idea.

I asked them about the prices; they said 25 KD plus they will provide an elegant packaging  for the egg, size wise you can put an iPhone inside, its nice for anniversaries or say valentine but I suspect it must be kept cool.

We got a quick chance to try Mrs Fields cookies at their softly opened outlet in Salmiyah.

As I said before Mrs Fields is one of the largest retailers of freshly baked cookies and brownies in the US, I tasted their cookies before and liked them.

Inside the place was small yet cozy and neat with colorful decorations and cute touches.

They had a variety of cookies and brownies that can be served with hot or cold coffee, customers can either eat-in or take-away the cookies in their cute packaging.

Personally I liked their M&M, chocolates, walnuts, Macedonian, and fudge and kinder.

We had a chance to enjoy exquisite dining experience last night at the softly-opened Q Cafe at The Village in Abu Al Hassany.

I had a little chit chat with the owner and the first question that popped on my mind was “Why Q?”, the owner smiled and said that they made a survey asking people what letter they favor and they found that those who are most sophisticated chose “Q”, interesting.

Owner also added that choosing Q had to do with old typography; the art of printing. Name aside, I was very intrigued with the interior design concept, the walls were plain concrete, no painting or finishing done; the owner explained how they wanted to prove that they can turn a rigid environment into a homy cozy place.

I liked the ambient and the background music, and outside was a nice seating area. Q Cafe is completely Kuwaiti concept offering customers Cafe/Restaurant experience.

Their fusion-based cuisine offers appetizers, sweets, salads, cakes, side orders plus main dishes.

Our starters: Caramelized shrimps; really tasty, also Onion Soup and Q Punch mix drink; refreshing.

Main course: Chicken stuffed rolls on White Spaghetti and Saffron and Shrimp Risotto; both we tasty.

Finally for sweets we tried their Mom’s Cake; you can’t make mistake having this cake, sinfully delicious!

A friend of mine brought me a package of Dolci Chocolate from Armani Cafe in Dubai, he knows how much I love it, and we were wondering if they will open Armani Cafe in Kuwait, guess what we did?

We called Armani Cafe in Dubai and asked them the same question and they said that they are actually planning to open in Kuwait! Woo hoo.

I’m not exactly sure when or where in Kuwait, but I’ll find out and let you know, stay tuned. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, the cuisine comprises traditional Italian dishes in keeping with Armani Caffés in Milan, London, Paris, and Boston.

We attended the opening of the new Chocolate outlet in Kuwait, dip ‘n dip, today’s evening at the Avenues.

dip ‘n dip is a franchise from Syria (Yes you read it right), its sort of a coffee shop specialized in chocolate sweets and chocolate dipped fruits.

We picked their iPad 2 menu and saw sweets of all kinds in addition to hot and cold drinks such as coffee drinks and a variety of cold drinks.

We asked them to give us their top seller plates to try.

We  started off with the Chocolate Crepe with Vanilla, we loved it.

We also tried their Dip Stick Platter; which consists of fruits and molten chocolate; delicious and fresh.

They also brought us some cookies which they get from Choowy Goowy restaurant, they were tasty but little stiff.

We were also asked to try the Cinnamon Crepe Pouch, and this one of their best plates.
