My friend has told me that confectionery and cafe Gelatissimo has just opened at Al Hamra Luxury Center in the food court next to Elevation Burger. I haven’t tried it before but I heard positive opinions about their Gelato ice cream, it does look tempting I’m going to try it next time I’m in Al Hamra Tower.
Their other branch is located at The Village in Abu Al Hassaniya.

While enjoying my vacation in Dubai, I decided to have dinner at the long awaited popular American restaurant The Cheesecake Factory that was opened two days ago at Dubai Mall, we arrived there at around 8:00 pm and it was so crowded. They told us that we need to wait 40 minutes or more and gave us a buzzer, they said we can stroll across Dubai Mall until the table is available.

This is their first branch in the Middle East, and shortly they are opening in Kuwait. We were starving literally and more than 50 minutes passed yet we didn’t get a table, but guess what? It was worth the wait. Inside it was really big and nicely designed, there were many waiters serving the customers.

Just like the U.S. branch, the menu was extensive and there were about 200 items to select from such as milkshakes, appetizers, salads, pizzas, burgers, pasta, fish & seafood, steak & chops, sandwiches, eggs & omelettes, soft drinks and of course add to this their main specialty; the cheesecakes.

Starters
Grilled Chicken Tostada Salad: Crisp corn tortillas topped with grilled marinated chicken breast with fresh corn, onions, mixed greens (Tasted good and the portion was enough for 3 people).
Factory Nachos: Served with melted cheese, Jalapenos, and spicy chicken; tasted good and it was more than enough.
Main Dish
Chicken Tenders: It was crispy and tasted good too served with sweet sauce and barbecue.
Chicken Madeira: This is their most popular chicken dish and tasted great (recommended). Our drinks were passion fruits Mojito and soft drinks.

Today after Eid family gathering I went to Adeliya to see some friends and spotted a new tiny cafe called Brush near the stadium so I passed by it to see what is it, it was so small and from the same people behind Shuffle restaurant in Jabriya and Yogen Fruz froyo. There were a few tables inside and outside, their menu is small and they offer basic hot and cold drinks like coffee and juices.
I picked strawberry cheesecake and strawberry mojito, both tasted good. Their prices were similar to say Starbucks, it’s a good on-the-go cafe or if you are seeking something off the grid, and yes before I forget there was also Yogen Fruz froyo.

Popcornopolis is now officially everywhere in Kuwait, today they opened their 7th branch in 360 Mall at the food court near the cinema, they released a new popcorn flavor called cupcake, I tasted it and like it. I wish Cinescape allows us to get our popcorn inside the cinema instead of the two only flavors (salt & caramel) that they have.
I’m telling you guys popcorn is the next big trend in Kuwait, so now Popcornopolis or Garret Popcorn?

I saw pictures for Cheescake Factory opening in Dubai Mall yesterday, I was waiting for this, it’s located opposite to the aquarium. I’m so envious right now but that won’t be long because it’s opening in Kuwait on October, luckily “Tazmania” is taking the family to Dubai next week so he’ll bring us a review.
I so like their cheesecakes (White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle, Pumpkin, Coconut Chocolate Cream).
Thanks [Salem]

Do you think popcorn is the next trend in Kuwait just like frozen yogurt? Today while passing by Solo Pizza Napulttana I spotted another popcorn shop called Hunch Gourmet Popcorn. Currently we have Popcornopolis, Let’s Popcorn, Mates Popcorn and soon we will have Hunch Popcorn and Garrret Popcorn.
I’ll pay them a visit when it opens to try their popcorn.

I read on Al Rai paper that M.H. Alshaya Co. has signed an exclusive franchise in Middle East for the U.S popular popcorn, Garrett Popcorn, and will open at the Avenues Phase III by end of this year. I’m little confused if it’s exclusive franchise then how come it’s already opened in Dubai?
I’m big fan of Garrett Popcorn and I always look for it when ever I’m in Dubai Mall, my favorite flavors are The Chicago Mix and Caramel Crisp. Can’t wait for the opening.
