I came to know through our friend Just Noon that Lazurd has opened their second branch in Salhiya complex at the mezzanine, I heard very positive reviews about their chocolates before but never tried them, do you recommend them for say parties or special occasions?
I received a box of Dunkin’ Donuts from BlackBerry and when I asked what’s the occasion they said “We’re giving free Dunkin’ Donuts for BlackBerry users in Kuwait”, that’s generous.
Offer starts from 16th of May for a month, every Wednesday (6:00 pm till 10:00 pm) BlackBerry and PlayBook users just have to show their devices at any Dunkin’ Donuts branch in Kuwait and will get free donuts and a coffee, no strings attached.
I have been craving waffles for sometime now but sadly we didn’t have any specialized place for waffles in Kuwait, I remember enjoying tasty waffles in the U.S and Europe. A friend told me about this new place in Salmiyah so-called Waffle Land that serves waffles.
I tried to convince Tazmania to join me but said he’s going healthy and he missed it. The place was kinda small but fine, I talked with the manager who said they opened couple days ago, and that they’ve flown to Belgium to get the waffles recipe to open their own concept in Kuwait.
They didn’t have a menu ready so we asked them to serve us with their favorite waffles; the strawberry, the chocolate, and the Nutella. All were tasty but the Nutella exceptional.
What I liked is that their waffles weren’t too sugary, taste was balanced and the ingredients felt fresh. Their ice cream comes from Movenpick and Baskin Robins.
They said customers can customize their own waffles by choosing the toppings and fruits, they’ll also serve low calorie waffles soon. Their price is 1.5 KD for the waffle and will officially open in two days.
Address: Salmiyah, Salem Mubarak street beside Olympia Mall.
I was having my lunch at Marina Mall today and while leaving at the main entrance I saw Popcoronopolis has opened a small shop. I like their caramel popcorn, though the location is bad but I guess this is the only available spot. Their main branch is at the Avenues.
I was at Marina Mall food court and saw that Italian Gelato Stick house has opened their 3rd branch in Kuwait, the other two are in Souk Salmiyah and Mohalab complex. That’s good because I don’t like going to Souk Salmiyah.
Yoforia is the latest addition to froyo outlets in Kuwait which was opened a few weeks ago at the Food Circle, I know we have many but I thought I’d try it to see if they are bringing something new.
First thing I noticed is the futuristic design of the store, customers are given chance to mix what ever froyo flavors and choose whatever toppings they like, that’s new.
They had flavors like mango, original, strawberry, pistachio, vimto, chocolate, pineapple among others. There were also new flavors like Ferrero Rocher, dark chocolate, and saffron.
Personally I liked the Ferrero Rocher and saffron, after mixing my own froyo and selecting toppings I went to the cashier which explained that they charge based on the weight not size. My order weighed 13.776 OZ and price was about 3 KD.
Its not ice cream, neither frozen yogurt or cakes, I tasted it and wondered what could it be and you definitely should have seen my reaction when they told me its rice pudding. I never tasted it before and I think this is the first in Kuwait.
I was invited by their owner yesterday to their little outlet so-called Rice Pudding Factory located next to Nuzha Starbucks cafe. I was hesitated at first but after tasting it I did like it.
They had different flavors such as white original, raspberry cheesecake, cookies and cream, tiramisu among others, personally I favored the original and raspberry. There were several toppings which added more ”yumminess”.
Taste was creamy and mouth-watery, its light when compared to other sweets, I wonder if this will end the era of frozen yogurt.
They had three portion sizes (small, medium, large) priced at KD1.450, KD 2.500, and KD 3.500 , there’s also a family package.
A friend of mine told me about this small home business where they make cookies in the shape of pizzas, now that’s new at least to me. They say their best is the Red Velvet and Flake pizza but honestly haven’t tried them yet.
I called them and they said price is 10 KD and that one piece is enough for 10 persons, anyone tried it?
So today we were cordially invited for the opening of the biggest and most awaited expo in Kuwait, Proud to Be Kuwaiti(AKA P2BK) at Kuwait International Fair.
Its been months since I had frozen yogurt, yesterday at Pinkberry I saw they had new watermelon flavor so myself and my friend decided to try the small portion.
We had different opinions, my friend liked it and I found it average though watermelon fruit topping tasted fresh.
I heard about Hello Kitty restaurant & cafe to open in Kuwait couple months ago but never knew the exact location, but while being at Al Bida’a last night I spotted it.
I think this is going to be the first Hello Kitty restaurant & cafe in the Middle East, as for Hello Kitty trademark I believe it was originally produced by Japanese company and has become phenomenal, I just hope that the restaurant won’t be expensive like other Hello Kitty stuff.
