A friend to our blog sent us this ad campaign published on Alwatan Daily newspaper, I’m not sure who is behind it but from what I read it seems its talking about a sad kid writing a diary complaining how his family is too busy with life.
The ad is very simple, yet it raises a very important question: Do we spend enough time with our kids? Do we give them the attention they need?
In speaking, we know that what we say may not be as important as how we say it, this is especially true in marriage life where most of the fighting starts because simple things were said using the wrong tone, I found this video for Hareth Al Mazidi highlighting this issue.
Just imagine how many problems can be avoided with just using the right tone !
Last week I conducted a poll to find out about the main causes for divorce in Kuwait. The reason behind this post was to identify the reasons behind the increasing divorce rates in Kuwait to help many families and newly weds understand and find solutions.
Below is the poll result, I tried to use a pie chart to help you get a clear picture:
We can notice that the main cause is Misunderstanding & Miscommunication (24%), I agree that understanding/Communication plays the most important role in life, imagine a football team or a captain along with his crew, both need to have successful communication to win.
The 2nd cause was Marital Infidelity/Cheating (23%); plain and simple, eveything that we do is based on loyalty and faith, if we lose faith in our partner then its almost impossible to go on especially with the pain that cheating causes.
As for the 3rd cause, came the Incompatibility (18%); It could be difference in education level, origins, ideology, relgious background. I believe its always better to take sometime evaluating the differences before we tie the knot.
I saw the latest statistics from Kuwaiti Ministry of Justice and it mentions that divorce rates in Kuwait continue to increase with over 27,500 divorce cases in 2010 alone and that’s 10% higher than 2009, so 62.9% get divorced from the new marriages, that’s the world’s highest !
Lawyers say that the main reasons behind the high number of divorces in Kuwait are incompatibility between couples and a lack of understanding of the common duties of marriage.
Divorce can cause depression, social problems such as bad image, financial issues, and can have major destructive effects on children. We wanted to identify the main reason of divorce in Kuwait for public benefit.
I was reading a magazine when I noticed that the famous “FOR DUMMIES” had released a new book on treating women ! Does that mean that are a lot of “dummy” Men out there who doesn’t know how to treat their women ?
