خلال تواجدي في المرينا مول اليوم شاهدت اشهر محلات بريطانيا “ليكلاند” المتخصصة في ادوات ومعدات المطباخ قد افتتح اول افرعه في الكويت. قمت بجولة سريعة داخل المتجر فوجدت العديد من الاشياء مثل السكاكين والصحون والاكسسوارات والملاعق والاطباق وكل ما يتعلق بالمطابخ.ا

المتجر كان كبيرا ورائعا واعتقد ان كل عشاق الطبخ سيعجبون بما سيشاهدونه, المحل موجود في المرينا مول بالقرب من “مانجو”.ا

I was at Hamra mall in the evening and saw Bottega Veneta store was just opened, this is the second branch in Kuwait but it looked kinda smaller than the one in 360 Mall. As for the other stores at Hamra Mall, most will open by the end of the month.

I was passing Bida’a today for lunch with friends and saw that Nike has just opened their biggest sport store in Kuwait beside T.G.I Friday’s, I thought it was a cafe, but anyhow that’s good since I was looking for comfy shoes for jogging and gym.

Inside I saw good stuff and there was a 1st floor, their shoes were good but somehow felt tight. The other branches are located at Sharq Market, 360 Mall, and the Airport.

While passing by the Avenues mall today I saw that the French fashion brand, Vicomte A., has just opened their first flagship store in Kuwait, this is their first store to open outside Europe.

Vicomte A. is a relatively new fashion brand from Paris and is known for bright colors and daring style that targets the youths. They have shirts, sweaters, driving shoes, smart house slippers, travel bags. Their bright colors are indeed very daring and will get attentioned.

The wait for the opening of one of the most luxurious shopping malls in Kuwait, Al Hamra Mall, is over. Today I was invited by Al Hamra team for an entertaining stroll around the mall. Buckle up!

Standing at 414 meters high, Al Hamra represents the tallest building in Kuwait and 2nd tallest in the Gulf with 80 floors. The name, Al Hamra is the name for the 1st cinema in Kuwait which was at same location.

The shopping mall (24,000 Sq. Meter) is part of the Luxury Center that also includes a Wellness & SPA, Roof Garden, IMAX Cinema, Restaurants, GYM, and Cafe’s.

As I stepped into the mall, I was fascinated with with quality finishing materials, spacious floors, and the sky-light roof design.

The mall contained a mix of high-end retail shops, restaurants, cafes, food courts, cinema and entertainment areas, spread across five levels with a large LED screen in the center.

The fashion stores that I came across were: Hermès, Yves Saint Laurent, Harry Winstone, Bottega Veneta, Carolina Herrera, Mont Blanc, Officine Panerai, Chanel, Kate Spade, Behbahani luxury,Vera Wang, Shoebox, L’ Argentina, Samsonite, Mouawad Jewelry, Al Jazeera perfumes, Korloff, Eden Park, Beidoun among others.

Some of the restaurants & sweet shops: Chocolate Bar, French Le Relais de l’Entrecote, Yoforia frozen yogurt, Elevation Burger, Melenzane and others.

Did I mention that there will be Versace Cafe, Cioccolate Italiani, Gucci cafe, Le Sushi Bar, and BiCERistorante? The cafe’s will have an indoor seating area plus an outdoor seating with an interactive fountain

I also noticed sportswear shops like Puma, Adidas, and Reebok. In the upper floor there are 9 IMAX V.I.P theaters for a new cinema company, Grand Cinemas, that will open this summer.

Other things I saw were a branch for Zain and NBK, and Multi Storey Car-Park with capacity of 2000 cars. The mall will softly open tomorrow for the public but most of the stores will open later this month.

I’m sure many of you, myself too, are waiting for the opening of one of the hottest shopping destinations in Kuwait, Al Hamra Mall, that will open next week (1st of May). Now the question is “What will be the stores, shops, restaurants, and cafe’s particularly the first timers in Kuwait?”

What I know is that the mall will be a mix of high-end retail shops, restaurants, cafes, food courts, cinemas and entertainment areas, spread across four levels of the tower with a large LED screen in the center.

So now what are the shops? Honestly I don’t have a clue but from previous posts I managed to know some of them, let’s see:

Fashion stores: Hermès, Harry Winstone, Officine Panerai, Chanel, Kate Spade, Behbahani watches, Mouawad Jewelry, Al Jazeera perfumes.

Restaurants & Sweets: Chocolate Bar, Yoforia frozen yogurt, Elevation Burger, Melenzane.

Cafes: Gucci cafe, Armani Cafe, BiCERistorante, Cavalli Cafe, Le Sushi Bar.

Cinema: Grand Cinema IMAX theaters.

Sport outlets: Adidas.

Phones: Zain branch.

Note: These are not all the shops and I’m not 100% sure about the above ones.

I came across this recent photo for Kuwaiti singer, Shams, standing next to umpteen expensive shoes that she bought in less than a year or so bragging that she rarely wears the same shoes. I think this isn’t just the case with shoes, some girls spend countless KDs on expensive high-end bags, luxury watches, and even make-up yet they’re embarrassed to wear/use them for more than a few times and then they quickly decide they need to shop again.

So the question here; Do we have fashion mania in Kuwait? Please don’t get me all wrong I’m a fashion lover myself but when some girls spend almost all of their income on that 700-900 KD luxury bag or that 250 KD pair of shoes and we rarely see them wearing the same things again then I guess yes we do have a slight issue here.

When I ever think luxury Salhiya is one of the first spots that pops on my mind, yesterday I was doing some shopping and saw that there are a number of new stores and restaurants that were recently opened.

First was the new Burberry branch located at ground floor, there’re other branches at 360 Mall and the Avenues.

If you like macaroons just like me then you’ll be glad to know that restaurant Chocolate and Macaroon has opened another vintage branch at M2.

Morad Behbehani is one of the stores specialized in luxury watches, it was opened a few months ago. There’s also another new branch opened at the Avenues Phase II.

I also saw that right outside the complex they’re opening the local frozen yogurt concept Home Berry, see my precious post about it here

There was this new store to open that according to them will sell a variety of luxury brands at M1.

I was passing by the Avenues this morning and saw that Bobbi Brown cosmetics store was just opened. Bobbi Brown is the world’s most celebrated makeup artist for popular personalities and fashion magazines.

What I like about Bobbi Brown brand is the natural looking make-up, such as a lipstick that has no smell, not too dry or has a greasy look. There’s another store at 360 Mall.

Like I said before there’s something going on Marina Mall, many stores are either shutdown or replaced recently, slow business? Latest was my favorite store Alcott, I liked it because they used to sell clothes for dirt cheap.

In same place they’re opening the U.K’s leading kitchenware store, LAKELAND. I think there’s one in Dubai but this is the first one in Kuwait.

A week ago we posted about new shopping malls popping up everywhere in Kuwait, guess what? Today I was at Egaila area and I spotted a new shopping mall called Al Liwan. I’m surprised on how Kuwaitis spent 27 Million dollars for shopping in Dubai despite the infinitely many shopping malls here, as of now I’m calling Kuwait “The Malls City”.

I took quick tour inside and saw X-Cite, max, Baroue, GÉANT market,  Nestle Toll House cafe, Crocs, Abdul Samad Al Qurashi, McDonald’s, Hassan optician among many other stores that are distributed on 4 levels, it could serve those who live in surrounding areas such as Fintas, Fahaheel, Egaila, and Abu Hulaifa.

Address: Egaila block 5 – Nearby Al Bairaq mall.
