I came to know that the Kuwaiti film “Tora Bora” starring Sa’ad Al-Farraj and Khaled Amin and directed by Walid Al-Awadhi is participating at Cannes Film Festival 2011. The film revolves about a heart breaking story of a father and his wife looking for their son in the mountains of Afghanistan.
I remember I saw the trailer for this film back in 2009. I’m a big fan for Sa’ad Al-Farraj, and consider him as one of shinning stars in Kuwaiti 7th art. I believe this is a big step forward for Kuwaiti cinema, especially that many world famous actors attend this important event. I can’t wait to see “Tora Bora”, it looks so promising !
The good news is that Cinescape had reached an agreement with the director Walid Al-Awadhi to get the copy rights for Kuwait and Middle East.
As many of you have heard on the news, Jordan and Morocco have made a request to join the GCC and this have left more questions than answers. While Gulf governments have publicly welcomed the move, an agreement between the six member states had not been reached, with Kuwait, Oman and Qatar calling for more time to “study” the proposals further.
Similar to any decision we make, there is always a good side, and a bad one. We wish if you could share your thoughts freely with us through this simple vote. The results can help us get a greater picture and have conclusions drawn and we will publish the results for discussion.
I was reading the paper and this headline caught my attention. Apparently, three women were swimming “naked” at the Maseela public beach, and minutes later the beach was crowded with young men who were taking photos with their phones, and the beach had turned into a big mess.
Why on earth would these women swim naked at a public beach? I wouldn’t be surprised if they got raped !
The new formed Kuwaiti government made oath yesterday in fornt of H.H. the Amir or Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad. I overheard many complaints about the new government formation, but I heartedly hope things settle down and go smoothly this time between the parliamnent and new government.
Its also noted that there were minor changes when compared to the previous government.
