One thing I did not like about Grand Hamra, movies booking that is. I had to get there and wait in a long queue to end up knowing that there’s no seats available, also the e-Kioks were not working. Well, they just released their iPhone and Android apps so I downloaded it and installed it on my Samsung Galaxy Note II. The app can be used to know the Now Showing and Coming Soon movies, book tickets, cinema location on map to help you find it, booking history, and account details.
The app runs alright but there are some graphical problems that need to be fixed, also the movie pictures are too small and when you select the seats it doesn’t show the location of the screen (kinda gets me confused). Generally the app is helpful but the user interface shall be more user friendly, I was told their e-Kioks are also now working.
I came to know that they have a created the first ever documentary movie on Kuwait’s lethal road accident rate being the highest in the world, excellent idea. The documentary movie Hayatak Teswa (translated as Your Life Worth) was ctreated by a private production house, Ebla Documentary.
I’m so excited about the idea, the film is backed by the Ministry of Interior and is a thorough investigation into the reasons behind Kuwait leading the global statistic of deaths due to road accidents; it documents the infrastructural, institutional, psychological, cultural and economical factors which contribute to the problem. The film also addresses solutions that aim to bring that statistic down, showcasing a number of well known Kuwaiti figures as well as testimonials by average citizens who have suffered life-changing injuries from accidents or the loss of loved ones. I always say fixing more speed cameras will not necessarily solve the problem, effective awareness is what we need.
The film will be shown across Kuwait cinemas and will have a private premier on December 12, 2012 in 360 Mall, yes I’m certainly going!

الفلم الآخر لهذا الاسبوع هو فلم الآكشن “آيرون فيست” للنجم الاسترالي “راسل كرو” الذي تعجبني أدواره وشخصياته. حسبما قرأت ان الفلم تدور احداثه عن مجموعة من المحاربين و القتلة يبحثون عن الكنز الأسطوري من الذهب، فيذهبون الى قرية في الصين ليجدوا حداداّ يدافع عن نفسه وزملائه القرويين, للتو شاهدت اعلان الفلم ويبدوا انه يستحق المشاهدة.ا
It’s been a while since I enjoyed watching short Kuwaiti movies, our friends “BioFilms” has just released their latest movie under the name “Impurity”, the plot revolves about a world where light and dark are no longer in balance and negativity covers the hearts of all but a few survivors.
I liked the cinematics, the screenplay, the music and sound effects, and how the script was written. I watched it for a few times now to try to fully grab the hidden message.
