I love dinosaurs, and this time they’re in 3D IMAX in the upcoming movie “Dinosaurs Alive”! The movie will be available on the 16th of June at the Scientific Center.
The narration is made by Michael Douglas, its absolutely on my must-see-list. T-rex rocks !

I went to watch the movie at Cinescape 360 last night. My review does not mean that everyone will think the same, but I found that this part wasn’t nearly as deep or character driven as the first two, so its a performance issue.
Ok there were some full-of-blood scenes with stabbings of all kinds but for some reason I wasn’t thrilled or at least freaked-out like part 1&2 mainly because the actors were not doing their best, though I must admit that i didn’t expect the killer at all.
The music was used incorrectly causing confusion, also the movie was deeply cut ! I was over the moon when I first heard about this 4th installment, but maybe because I had set high expectations ? No spoilers

I came to know about a new Kuwaiti film premieer “Richard III: An Arab Tragedy” tomorrow in Cinescape 360 at 8:00 pm. Its basically a documentary film about the historical process of the Shakespeare’s play Richard III in the UK and Beirut.
The event is not open to the public, but you can buy tickets and watch the film at Cinescape 360 through out the week. Ticket prices are 2.5kd and 1.5 on Monday.
The cast includes Jasim Al-Nabhan, Fayez Kazak, Amal Omran among others and directed by Sulayman Al-Bassam. I still didn’t get the story, even after seeing the trailer, I need to see it first.

I’ve noticed that Summer 2011 is loaded with superhero movies ! Wait let’s see, we started with THOR movie back on 6th May, and soon Kung Fu panda 2 and X-Men: First Class will hit the theaters, then we have Green Lantern starring Ben Affleck on June 17, after that comes Captain America: The First Avenger on the 22nd of July.
The story doesn’t end here, we still got Cowboys & Aliens coming up on the 29th of July, and the whole new part for the classic Conan the Barbarian 3D on the 19th of August ! Whew, did I miss anything ?
I don’t know if we can consider Harry Potter: Deathly Harrows part 2, and Transformers 3 as a Marvel based movies, but they look the same to me. I can’t complain though, Marvel movies are still fun but I want to see some diversity.

We promised to bring you a great review on ”Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and here we are to fulfill our promise. For the past two days, the theaters were all full-booked, and I wanted it on IMAX 3D.
Sadly, my friend was late so I asked the supervisor if its possible to keep his ticket, but he was like “NO, we don’t do that anymore, you have to wait till he comes” ! This made me miss about 10 mins
I love the pirates series to the bone and this part brings many enjoyable and funny scenes and moments, great visuals, also the Script Writing and storyline were great, though there were “things” that ruined part of the experience.
First of all, the movie was slashed and cut savagely by the censorship ! In many cases I felt lost, and scenes felt incoherent.

As for the story, Jack Sparrow and Barbossa embark on a quest to find the elusive fountain of youth, only to discover that Blackbeard and his daughter are after it too. The ending seemed like there will be another part.

I came to know that the Kuwaiti film “Tora Bora” starring Sa’ad Al-Farraj and Khaled Amin and directed by Walid Al-Awadhi is participating at Cannes Film Festival 2011. The film revolves about a heart breaking story of a father and his wife looking for their son in the mountains of Afghanistan.
I remember I saw the trailer for this film back in 2009. I’m a big fan for Sa’ad Al-Farraj, and consider him as one of shinning stars in Kuwaiti 7th art. I believe this is a big step forward for Kuwaiti cinema, especially that many world famous actors attend this important event. I can’t wait to see “Tora Bora”, it looks so promising !
The good news is that Cinescape had reached an agreement with the director Walid Al-Awadhi to get the copy rights for Kuwait and Middle East.

A while ago I was at Cinescape 360 enjoying the 5th installment of the successful franchise the “Fast and Furious” movie series. This is one of the few fast-paced action movies that I really enjoy and that’s why I chose V.I.P theater.
I liked reunion of Vin Diesel (Dom) and Paul Walker (Brian), also the famous actor known as “The Rock” shows up this time to add even more intense action.

As you would expect from Fast & Furious movies, there are many tuned-up cars, speed racings, shooting, drugs, money and tricks. I came to know there is an IMAX version coming soon, I’ll definitely see it again !
I’d rate it 9.0/10 (I hate censorship), but my only concern is when young or reckless speed lovers see it and try to implement what they saw on Kuwait streets !

This is one of the marvel movies I’m patiently waiting for, the last part “Wolverine” was good and full of thrilling action.
This part goes back to the beggining of X-Men saga, and shows how they opened a school for the superhuman abilities.
The good news is that it will be released in Kuwait on 1st of June, which is even before the U.S. release date, and bad news is that Hugh Jackman will not show up in this part.
