Is it me or is it true that girls in Kuwait are way too fond of Kim Kardashian? Is it her style? Make up? Character? I thought guys will be the most interested in her but apparently not.

Thanks [Ali]

I was asked by Ten Spa & Salon to pass by them to try their treatments and rate their overall experience, it’s been really long since I had any massage sessions or body treatments and lately I’m starting to feel stressed out so this invitation came at the right time. So I went over to Sanabil Tower (Al Babtain) in Sharq, they are located on 2nd mezzanine.

Inside they had a small reception area with dimmed lighting, they served me ginger tea and gave me a brief description for their treatments and facilities. They basically have 4 treatment rooms, a barber, and pedicure & manicure area. I picked their menu and saw that they have a variety of massages and treatments; some for relaxing and re-energizing and others for deep tissue.

They also have whole packages that include massage, facials, reflexology, body wrap…etc. in one go based on customer desire. Their treatment room was small but fully equipped; a shower, toilet, comfy bed, and set of organic oils that they use for the massage. Also their massage therapist was experienced.

I gotta say the massage coupled with dimmed lighting and slow music playing was relaxing, the 60 minutes felt like 6 minutes. I did not try the barber so I can’t give my feedback on that, as for the pricing their treatments sessions cost KD25 for the 60 mins and KD30 for 90 mins. Ten Spa & Salon does offer a relaxing massage treatment on-the-go experience for those who work and live around Kuwait City, but the spa itself is small so do not expect a fancy sauna or steam room.

One of our blog readers has just sent us a picture for Kim Kardashian arriving secretly to Kuwait and meeting with US Ambassador to Kuwait, secret sources says she’ now residing in a hotel, some say Crowne Plaza but nothing for sure. Meanwhile she’s getting ready for the opening of Millions of Milkshakes and to launch Kardashian Kollection at Dorothy Perkins tomorrow at the Avenues. She looks kinda serious in that black outfit don’t you think?

A relative of mine sent me pictures and video for a snow seen in northern desert of Kuwait, it’s actually hail covering a large area and looked similar to snow. My relative says they were camping at Al Ratga (North of Kuwait near Abdali) and they saw a big white area and when they came closer they found it’s hail. If you look closely at the video you will see there’s like a smoke, it’s still November so I’m guessing this winter will be the coldest ever.

I’m going to pay them a visit on the weekend, hopefully I’ll get to see it!

Thanks [Nawaf]

It is one of those rare days, I was doing some works on the roof of my house and the Kuwait City skyline caught my eyes, the clouds were covering all the tall buildings. Al Hamra Tower and Liberation Tower were immersed in the deep fog, it looked astonishing! I brought my DSLR and climbed to the highest point of my house, it was kinda risky but I swear it was worth it. I started taking as many high resolution photos as I could and use them as background for my new Windows 8 desktop, Samsung Galaxy Note II and share them on Instagram with friends and relatives.

I also made HD video that I hope you guys will love, though I hope I had used even better lenses for my camera. Below is the full size images in case you want to see the full view.

Our friend pro photographer Ali Younis shared with us his latest clip about Hajj Pilgrimage in Makkah for year 2012 showing how great is the pilgrimages movements during Hajj using Time laps technique along with Iphone 4S. This state-of-the-art clip proves that it’s not just the expensive DSLR camera that produces brilliant photography but mainly the talent.

Some sources told me that Kim Kardashian will arrive to Kuwait on November 28, that’s next Wednesday, and she’ll be at the Avenues for the opening of Millions of Milkshakes on November 29 (Thursday). I just saw her official video saying she’s excited about the visit and that she wishes to meet everyone! Is that so? I can feel the imminent earth quake.

On the 30th she’s having V.I.P dinner at Le Notre and I overheard that she’ll be visiting 52 Degrees at Tilal complex in Shuweikh.

While having my morning coffee and leafing through Al Qabas paper I came across this new article stating that more than 30% of Kuwaiti Men are nowadays getting plastic surgeries, now this is interesting because I thought it’s just the girls that are after plastic surgeries but seemingly not. Local plastic surgeons say that they meet many local men who are very concerned about how they look thesedays and don’t mind the idea of getting plastic surgeries to look more attractive for women or merely to sport new look.

According to the article the plastic surgeries varied between nose jobs, liposuction, hair transplant, skin enhancements and others. Personally I’m noticing that more and more men are becoming metrosexual by spending a lot of money on buying expensive brands and taking extra care on how they look which I think is fine, but question here is, do you think it’s fine for men to get plastic surgeries in order to attract women?

A friend sent me a picture for a new silver commemorative coin (above) released by Central Bank of Kuwait to celebrate 50 years anniversary for issuance of the Constitution (Golden Jubilee). The silver coins cost KD40 and golden KD155 (gold plated), they are available at the Central Bank. I liked the golden one,  guess coins collectors will like to get them.

As I said in my previous post [link] Zain has officially launched 4G LTE routers and e-GO for Internet in Kuwait, a friend of mine just called me to say that he just got their WiFi router. I asked him about the price and conditions, he said they told him that these are the packages;

35 GB for KD24/Month (only USB e-GO provided), and if WiFi router is desired then KD35 surcharge is added.

80 GB for KD33/Month (WiFi router included).

My friend added that these prices are for one year contract, and in case of cancellation before one year there’s a KD70 fee for the 35 GB package and KD105 for the 80 GB. “How fast is it? I asked, “I’m still testing it on Speedtest.net with different servers but the speed is 42 Mbps and it depends on the strength of the signal” he said. I’ll make a detailed review about it when I get my hands on it shortly.

Note: 4G LTE for smartphones is not yet available in Kuwait.
