I was checking the International Corruption Index only to find that Kuwait ranking had gown down from 35 (2003) to 54 (2010). I read the reasons are the money laundry and insufficient anti-money laundering rules. The recent rumors about MPs receiving cash payments into their bank accounts from unknown sources will also have negative effect on our ranking.
This is sad, but we need to seriously work on this issue if we ever want to create an international financial center.

A friend of mine who works in Ministry of Electricity and Water sent me a photo for solar panels installed at the roof of government building, and said the government plan to use solar power for all other government buildings instead of traditional electric power, this will help save 10% from power consumption.
I’m so happy they finally took the first step after many years, we have hot sunny days and plenty of sun light and we are suffering from power shortage. I have also noticed that some solar panels were installed for the light posts.

Today I read on the paper that the ability to transfer mobile numbers between the three carriers in Kuwait was postponed till the end of 2012 and their reasoning is that the implementation needs more time, I was waiting patiently for the number transfer, but seemingly this is taking forever !
I recall a few months ago Wataniya Telecom had made a huge campaign about numbers transfer, I’m sure many wish to change their carrier but they just don’t want to get a new number. We really need a telecom authority in Kuwait to facilitate the process.
Update: It was published on Al Anba paper on 19 February 2012 that numbers transfer will be available by end of 2012.

I received this picture for the new shirt of Kuwait National Football team when VIVA had announced their sponsorship for the team. Kuwait National Football Team does need more financial support, as for the new light blue shirt, it looks nicer.
