I have been seriously thinking to try the sky-diving sport, its so thrilling and full of andrenaline experience, but sadly its not yet available in Kuwait and I’m going to Dubai to try it on November.

Meanwhile, I noted they have a semi-Skydiving experience game at Sha’ab Leisure park.

They give similar suit for real Skydiving and presumably similar short experience, of course it can never feel like the real skydiving.

Look on the bright side, it costs only 5 K.D when compared to real Skydiving. :)

Thanks [Shahal]

Last night we were invited to the soft opening of B Villa at Al Bida’a and we had the chance to see it and bring you photos and write a review.

B Villa is a place for women to unwind and relax and enjoy B’s tastes and specialites, and it consists of four havens.

Outside on the terrace, you’ll be able to enjoy light snacks and beverages at B Cafe and in B-Studio you can take dancing classes such as Salsa, Merengue or even practice yoga while taking a beautiful view of the beach.

Downstairs in a showroom, you can leaf through hand-selected clothing and jewelry for each season and finally get your hair and make-up done by professional hands at B Salon.

We must say we felt in love with the fancy decorations, nice lighting and relaxing ambients.

Address: Al-Bidaa, behind Al Zumurruda Hall, Villa #7.

While I was at Souk Sharq, I saw many tourists and natives standing by the monumental water clock and wondering how they can read it. Thirteen years have passed since Souk Sharq was opened by H.H departed Sheikh Jaber but it remains an attractive spot for many.

The 5.5 meter high water clock itself is very unique, designed by French professor Bernard Gitton who is specialized in liquid science and there are only 20 similar clocks worldwide and only one in the Gulf. Its idea was based on ancient Greeks method for measuring time and they called it “Clepsydra” which means “Water Thief”. Luckily, it wasn’t harmed when a missile hit Souk Sharq back in 2003.

As on how to read it, the left column is for hours and the right for minutes, so time is 10:15 pm in above picture.

I was driving on Al Soor street and saw that the Fountain Park still exists. I wonder if anybody goes there anymore, I remember it was a great weekend spot for Ramadan in the 80′s, many singers and bands used to make parties there but now I guess its abandoned.

Today marks the 21th invasion anniversary, a day we would not forget. I still remember that day (2nd of August, 1990), the smoke, the flames, and shooting.

We paid the “Not To Forget Museum” a visit and had fantastic tour that brought back the sad memories of the invasion and lovely ones of the liberation.

This is my first time to visit the memorial museum and its a really great touristic spot for those who wants to know about Kuwait history and the invasion.

The museum tries to recreate the horror of the Iraqi invasion through a guided tour with special lighting, sounds effects and narration for only one dinar.

I loved the crafted models, the illumination, and the option to choose narration in Arabic or English.

Also it was great how the events were put in order so the visitor can get the correct time frame, and the detailed information.

Some of the highlighted events are the night of invasion, the Al-Qurain house, Kaifan police station, Dasman palace, torturing, destruction of Kuwait airport, Bayan palace, oil fires..etc

In addition to the models, there are many photos and paintings for the wide range of characters and events related to the invasion and liberation.

I would highly recommend everyone to visit the Kuwait House of National Memorial Museum, only there we can learn that “We can forgive, but we will never forget”.

We had an enjoyable visit to Kuwait Flight Simulation Center. I love aviation and I remember I wanted to be a pilot and this place made me really feel like one.

The center simply gets you the best flight simulation experience ! There are many planes to fly such as Boeing 737, Boeing 747, Boeing 777, Airbus Pro 320, Airbus 321, Airbus 330 among others.

There’s also the F-16, F-18, and a Helicopter and you can synchronize them to go on missions and dog-fights, interesting !

The center is designed to look like an airport with a comm. tower, nice ! I spoke with the manager Eng. Abdulmalik Al Mobaiedh about the center and asked if they offer real training:

“We offer realistic training and prepare you for the Private Pilot Licence (PPL). Our center is approved by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA)” he said.

I noticed they give classes on aviation. I got inside the Airbus Pro 320 and it felt so realistic from the engine sounds to weather conditions, turbulence and engine failures too.

They also have a hobby-craft shop, Lounge Cafe, and a Pilot shop selling aviation hardware and software. I asked how much this cost and I was told that simulators booked at one hour intervals range from 10 to 35 K.D/hr

I passed by the newly opened seaside Olympia Mall in Salmiyah. I liked the exterior design of this mall, plus its not congested like other malls and has many shops, restaurants and cafe’s.

There are nice outdoor sittings, I guess its nice for evening.

Inside, it was spacious with and nicely finished and has two levels. There were cafe’s such Caribou, Second Cup and restaurants such as Planet Hollywood, Grill, Syrian and Noodle House.

There were also many brands such as Fendi, Mango, bebe, Pronovias, Deer & Dear, Kayra, Women secret, and others.

There is Ahli Bank, VIVA, Baroue for kids, and Yoguberry for frozen yogurt. As I said, I like how it was quiet and cool, I’ll go there again and enjoy a cup of coffee every now and then.

We paid a little visit to the Speed Expo at the Discovery Place in the Scientific center. The expo started today and will continue till 14th January, 2012.

I loved the Expo because it gives a great chance to learn scientific facts about motion, speed and physics in such an interactive and enjoyable way.

There are many interactive games for engines, motion, speed, magnetic force, pendulum, energy and even a plasma sphere.

If you want your kids to love physics, pay a little visit to the expo and let them enjoy and learn the real physics in such an enjoyable way !

I felt like I want to study physics again :)

We brought you a sneak peak on the famous Six Senses SPA in Hotel Missoni. The SPA will open on the 16th of June, and trust me when I say that this is one of the best SPA’s ever.

I love SPA’s ! Six Senses SPA is located on the 2nd floor, has 13 treatment rooms including two Moroccan Hammams, separate areas for men and ladies, and a bridal room including salon, pedicure and manicure areas.

I also noticed a fitness centre with a mixed and ladies-only gym, yoga studio, experience shower (Shower with perfume selection), infrared sauna, steam rooms and luxurious relaxation areas.

Yes they also have reflexology, as  for the prices, they range between 30-80 K.D depending on the services. Though 50 mins relaxing massage costs 30 K.D

A friend of mine sent me photos of Al Muhana chalets located at Al Khiran pearl city Phase-1 and I was astonished with what I saw. I rarely go to chalet but after seeing those photos I decided that am going.

They are 36 chalets built by the lagoons (Exit 237) with really fancy facade, nice swimming pool and fancy decorations on the inside. I went to Khiran pearl city last summer for Jet Ski and it was fun.

I have been to several chalets in Kuwait but so far this looks the best, and they are only for families which I think is better. Though what I really want to know about it the prices becasuse I’m really considering to take my family for a week end break in the summer.

This is a great addition to the tourism in Kuwait and I like to see more. If anyone got their number please share it with me !
