We got invited for the press conference for the new Kuwait radio station FM 103.7 show so called “Al Gayla” at Lenôtre. “Al Gayla” is a traditional Kuwaiti term meaning noon time or mid day, I liked the name. Al Gayla radio show will be aired on Sunday 2nd of October from 1 PM to 3 PM. It will be presented by the famous radio presenters “Mic_Embalta3″ and Tallah Al Yagout, these guys know how to make me laugh out loud, they were in “Dewaneya” show on Marina FM 88.8.

The name “Al Gayla” was chosen because of the broadcasting time and to promote traditional Kuwaiti terms. As for the camel logo, they said they wanted to deliver the sense of humor. The show will talk about different sports (Soccer, basketball, car racing..etc) and will invite international sport stars, also many topics will be aired and discussed.  Guess what? The show introduction will be made by Kuwaiti rappers Army Of One, this is cool. Many people from the media and the press were at the event, I’m glad the Ministry of Information organized this event. Al Gayla is sponsored by VIVA and Bayan Dental.

We attended the on-going “Environmental Awareness Exposition” at Marina Mall bridge. We at Banana Q8 blog embrace the environmental cause & we will always do our best to raise the public awareness toward saving our environment.

The exposition is organized by Kuwait Environment Public Authority (K-EPA) & was opened by Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad.

There were companies (both governmental & private) that joined the exhibition with ideas & projects that will help save the environment, its great to see that companies are turning green & not just care about the profits.

There were several environmental projects that I really liked such as using SOLAR energy, Windmills, waste water treatment, using of Bio-degradable materials, recycling & re-use for many day to day items.

Though I wished if more companies were participating  There were also group of voluntary Kuwaitis that run a creative campaign called “CHANGE” & they are doing really fantastic job to raise the awareness toward Kuwaiti environment.

I had a little chit-chat with them & I was really impressed, can you imagine that they are not even sponsored but yet have done amazing things.
