I took the kids yesterday to the new interactive expo at Kuwait Scientific Center, the idea of this expo is fairly unique where individuals of any age can play interactive games that are based on movement and physical effort to promote health and fitness. Some of the games included burning calories and muscles training in such an entertaining way, so it’s sort of a little gym with fun. Well I burned some calories of the chocolate fondue I ate earlier too.

In addition, kids can learn the laws of physics and motion, interesting. The expo is at the Discovery Place and will continue till March 2013.

A friend of mine told me about Marvel Vs. Capcom gaming competition that will take place in Kuwait on July and first two winners will be given KD400 cash and a free invitation to attend the international gaming competition Arcadia Cup Tournament in Tokyo, sounds like a great deal but I guess one must be really good in Marvel Vs. Capcom game.

I passed by the newly opened racing simulator so-called Racing Room today at Baroue in Avenues Mall, I think this is the first racing simulator in the Gulf. I love simulators because you could enjoy all the physical effects and feeling of real racing experience minus the dangers of course.

Inside they had six professional simulators with all the gears such as surround speakers, break and acceleration paddles, sexy steering wheel with gear shift buttons, comfy seat and high resolution screen, there’s even a clutch paddle for the manual driving, cool.

I talked with the supervisors who explained that friends can enjoy real racing and real cars to race each other, and those who get the highest scores will be added to the international score board, any new driver can create an online profile for him/her and save the information on a card so everytime they come they just need to swipe the card and bingo.

I sat behind the wheel to see if it feels real, guess what? It does, I liked how the steering wheel vibrates as you drive, also sound system was great but I wish graphics was even better.

There’s also a big screen for spectators, you could either challenge your friends or the world through an online network. They said the price is KD2.5 and 400 fils if you want to get a card with your profile saved.

I’m definitely going again with my friends for a challenge.

I was at Al Rehab complex in Hawally looking for games, you see I didn’t play games for too long I just don’t have enough time. I saw the awaited PC RPG game, Diablo III was released for KD18, I used to play this game back in the 90′s and it was fun.

Luckily I can run the game on my relatively old laptop but not on full settings, I was impressed with the graphics and gameplay was cool even though it took me almost half an hour to figure things out. The game is about fantasy journey into dungeons where you face demons and unlock secrets, though be aware this is a time-consuming game, so I’ll have to set an alarm otherwise I’ll end up playing it all day long.

Bottom line, if you like games from Blizzard like World of Warcraft and RPG games, then you’ll definitely love this one, it also has online gaming and there’s also a book that can help you with the game at Al Rehab.

Note: Diablo III is only available for PC.

A blog visitor sent me a photo for a dreamy gaming room, in this room there’s a big cabinet with over 26 gaming consoles both old and new! Mashallah. Some of the consoles include Sega Mega Drive and Mega CD, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Panasonic 3DO, Atari 2600, Wii, XBox, PlayStation 1 & 2 & 3, Sega Saturn, Neo Geo, Jaguar, Philips CD-I, and others, all connected to a large LED HD TV with 5.1 surround system.

There’s are also over 1,000 games on cartridges and CDs. I so miss Sega and Nintendo, especially to play Sonic and Mario! I dream to have such a room I’ll never leave the house. Read my previous about history of video games here

Thanks [Mohammed]
