I was thinking to myself where to have dinner tonight, and it hit “TaTami”. Its a Kuwaiti-concept Japanese restaurant located at Kuwaiti city.

TaTami was opened couple months ago and is run by three Kuwaitis; Abdulaziz Al-Qatrash, Nasser Bouresli, and Danah Al Tourah (Chef). The interior design was made by Jassem Shehab and I must say he did a good job making giving a romantic ambients and surroundings for a dinner with the exquisite decorations.

I checked their menu and saw that they offer Maki’s, Sushi, Soups, Salads, Noodles, Rice in addition to sweets and drinks. I had Edamame and soup for the starters.

As for the Maki’s, I picked their signature ones; the Dancing Shrimp Ura, and Crispy Almond roll, and both were “Yummy”. I liked the cute names they gave for the Maki’s !

Their Lemonade tasted great too and the staff were friendly plus service was good. As for prices,  they were average, my check was 10.670 K.D.

All in all, TaTami adds more choices to the Japanese restaurant lovers in Kuwait and worth a visit.

I was shopping at Carrefour and saw that they have added local camel meat to the meats section, I never tried camel meat and I was wondering if its worth the try ?

I heard it has less fat, less cholesterol and high protein, this is really good for people that wish to eat more red meat but have dietary problems like high cholestrol, diabetes, and bodybuilders, but what about the taste ?

I had a quick dinner at the newly opened Maki at Salhiya complex, its located on the 2nd Mezzanine.

There were indoor and outdoor sittings, and the interior decorations were nice with nice lighting, though I noticed that this one is little smaller than the other branches in Kuwait.

I liked how they replaced the traditional menu with an iPad 2 one, customers can easily select their Maki’s with clear images. Those who love Maki and seek serenity, then this branch is for them.

We had our breakfast this morning at the Cocoa Room located opposite to Al Seef Palace. I promised to make a review for it before and here I am to fulfill my promise.

As I said in my previous post, Cocoa Room is nicely decorated on the inside with comfy seats and fancy lighting. Though when I first saw the logo, I found it little hard to read it.

Currently they open from 8:00 AM till 3:00 and serve breakfast and brunch, they said they will open in the evening during Ramadan.

Cocoa Room is a Kuwaiti concept, I picked their menu to see that they have many dishes to choose from where most of the meals had eggs, cheese, turkey, bread and vegetables.

They also have a section for people on diet, good idea. I picked smoked turkey and feta egg white omelette, tasty  and light !

I was at Red Mango in 360 Mall and I tried their new Blueberry flavor and absolutely liked it. The toppings were mango, raspberry, blackberry, and strawberry.

The new Blueberry flavor is only available at 360 Mall branch.

A few hours ago the long awaited SHAKE SHACK burger restaurant finally opened in Kuwait at the Avenues Mall, and guess what I was there to try it.

The funny thing is that I arrived to Kuwait just an hour before the soft opening and I was literally starving so I headed there right away.

Many came for the soft opening including the press. This is the 2nd Shake Shack to open in the Middle East (1st in Dubai Mall). I got to meet the American staff that came all the way from New York and will stay for three weeks.

I also met their chef Mr. Mark Rosati and asked many questions. Shake Shack was first opened in New York and is really loved by many.

I checked the menu and saw burgers, hot dogs, shakes, sodas, fries, and sweets. I tried their famous Shack burger, and I must admit its taste was one of the best ever.

Their french fries tasted great too, less oily and crispy. As for drinks, I picked Strawberry shake, loved it. Finally, I had the Shack Attack for sweets, “Yummy”.

I liked that they have caller device to tell you that your food is ready, and they got a new drink called “The Sandstorm” that was made specially for Kuwait.  I asked about the meat source and was told its from U.S. and its “Hallal”.

Also I asked about the cooking oil and they said they use vegetable oils and no trans fat.
