With all the driving excitement of a Sports Activity Coupé and the hallmark MINI go-kart fun driving experience, the seventh addition to the MINI family is set to turn heads in Kuwait. Shoppers will have the chance to interact with the brand’s newest addition and experience the new MINI Paceman for themselves via a host of fun, creative, eye-catching stunts, including pop art and interactive drawing screens,. Entitled “Design with Bite,” the activation will form part of a region-wide road show, which includes visits to six countries across the MiddleEast.

The seventh model in the MINI family has a unique character all of its own, while displaying clear ties to the inimitable style of the British brand.  On the outside, the MINI Paceman offers a unique combination of sporty and extrovert design with two elongated doors, large new horizontal taillights and sloping roofline. The fresh and individual character of the MINI Paceman comes across most prominently when the car is viewed from the side.  It is also highly customisable, and available in eight body finishes and a choice of seven light alloy wheels in four colours.  The roof and exterior mirror caps can be painted in the chosen body colour, white or black.

ACK students are smashing that’s for sure! Last night, Smash Burger held an all you can eat in the shortest amount of time contest at the ACK campus in Mishref. I must say the enthusiasm was amazing and the competitors really know how to shove burgers down their throats!

The burgers were big, juicy, and looked tasty you could eat one or even 5 (which is what the contestants needed to eat to break the previous contest record of 4 burgers). Contestants had five minutes to break the previous record and the organizers provided bottles of water to help the participants get the burgers down.

The winners, one male, and one female, won free food for a whole year from Smash Burger. I think this was a good competition to get the students active but maybe next time, we can have a healthier competition? Take care ACK, nice smashing with you!

I got an email from the organizers of Gladiators Fighting Championship informing me that there will be a 3rd version for the event next week under the name Grand Epic. This time around the cage fighting event will be held at Al Arabi Sports Club and there are over 20 MMA fighters and tickets are sold for KD10 and KD5. However the VIP tickets were already sold out I heard, not entirely sure though. I’ve not been to the event last time but I hope the fights will be more serious this time and judges won’t stop the fighters each time they get in close contact.

It’s been a while since I got my groove on but luckily for me, Crocs was kind enough to provide enough groove for all of us last night! At the Grand Avenues, Crocs hosted a retro event which, for me, was a home-run in all aspects.
So what exactly is retro? – reviving the styles and especially the fashions of the past: fashionably nostalgic or old-fashioned.

And that is exactly what was going down at the Crocs store last night with their 70’s theme!

The 1970s, was a decade that saw many diverse forms of music funk and psychedelic rock and medleys and sketches that aired on local TV. It was also the birth of movies and plays that are still groovy to date such as, Saturday Night Fever and local play “The Salmiya Bachelor” starring Kuwaiti star Abdulhussain Abdulredha. Not to forget, the funky fashion in the 70s that flaunted bell-bottoms, afros, sequins, loud prints and the androgynous hippie look.

The 70’s-themed retro event was held to take us back to the 70s era of funky designs and vintage-themed outfits which was the inspiration behind the iconic Crocs Retro Collection.

I was in for a nice surpirse when I found out that Chiquita Fruit Bar opened up at the The Souq in the Avenues last night. The opening was really nice as they had a live band playing some cool jazz tunes with plenty of samples to go around. The fruit juices are simply divine, and the ice cream definitely makes you want to go back for more. The ice cream is made from 100% natural ingredients used from daily fresh fruits, with no sugar! The sweetner they use is organic agave which, for me, made the taste ten times better than any ice cream I’ve ever had.
The juices are all fresly made right in front of you and they have so many options to chose from! I would recommend this place for any diabetic who can’t enjoy the usual sugary ice creams that we enjoy or for anyone who’s a fruit juice lover. I’m heading there right now, that baby cocount is calling out to me!
