I received news about Ministry of Communication to meet with Kuwait ISP’s today to discuss several issues such as Internet pricing in Kuwait, and Cap (limits) to try to reach for mutual solutions that satisfy both ends (Customers and Companies).

VIVA had launched the fastest internet in Kuwait so far with a speed of 42.2 Mbps. Powered by the HSPA+ technology and nationwide coverage. I spoke with their customer service and this is their offer:

26 K.D monthly and 60 K.D for the USB modem, but if you subscribe for 1 year the modem will be free. I also asked about the daily cap and they said its 2 GB/day.

Update: I visited VIVA and asked for more information, they said customers should first verify their area location to make sure they get 42.2 Mbps speed, also this speed will only be obtained using the USB.

It looks like that Google is about to launch a new Social Network similar to Facebook. I saw the video and it seems promising but I still find Facebook cooler.

Though I am sure that Mark Zuckerberg watched this video and is now very concerned :)

I received these magic gifts from China, I know when we think of gifts we often imagine T-shirts, wallet, watch or a perfume, but these are very unique and must-see !

I’m surprised how Chinese people make really strange stuff that we see nowhere else. China is now the next Japan, no wonder why their economy is booming :)

I found that there’s a new internet service provider company (ISP) called “mada” that had joined the other ISP companies. I saw their booth at Marina Mall and they said that they launched their WiMAX services 3 weeks ago.

They offer wireless internet speed up to 10 MB/S with a free wireless router. My first question to them was of course if they have download limit (Cap) like the other companies, and they said that the first 3 months of their subscription is limitless but after that they limit the download capacity to 20 GB/Month.

Their price is  20 KD/Month for 10 MB/S speed.

As for the capping issue, I saw on TV that the parliament members Ahmad Al-Sa’adoon and Saleh Al-Mullah will raise it for discussion on the next parliament session.
