A reader emailed me this photo, she says she was looking for a parking spot at Adan hospital today and she spotted this complete jerk stupidly double parked, I thought this was only an issue with high value cars but obviously not. Why jerks are proliferating in Kuwait?
I have subscribed to a new SMS phone service launched by Ministry of Interior which will send me SMS alerts and reminders for several things such as traffic tickets, residence expiry, vehicle expiry, passport expiry, election registration among several other things that I listed below. The service fee is KD1 which is reasonable, if you would like to subscribe to the new SMS service visit this [link]
If you thought we are done with bike shows for 2013, then you’re wrong! I got E-mail from Kuwait Riders which is the largest motorcycle riding club in Kuwait and it’s a part of the Riders International network all over the GCC, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Egypt and Turkey that they are about to organize the 3rd Bike Show. The Bike show is basically a competition between the best motorcycles in different categories, customizing, accessories & the look of the bike.
I recall I paid their Bike Show a visit before and saw the most exotic looking bikes ever [link].

Have you guys heard about the professional luxury cars robbers that got busted I think last week, in above video the police detective from Qadisiya police station says that these guys are specialized in stealing luxury cars using very subtle technique and were able to steal over 30 expensive cars such as Porsche Panamera, Range Rover, Bentley GT among many others. Though I didn’t fully get how they stole those them but I guess they were replacing the number plates of the stolen cars with valid number plates of similar legitimate cars (same color, same model). It’s shocking to see how crime has developed in Kuwait to reach new levels, the police detective said the robbers were an engineer, firefighters in addition to a police officers and others.
Buying a used car can save you a lot but one must be really careful when deciding to buy a used car otherwise it would turn into a nightmare, it’s like hunting for a fresh fish in a big sea of fishes and there are many things to consider such as the car year of manufacture (newer is better), distance drove in KM (mileage, less KMs is better), car place of purchase (locally, GCC, or somewhere else?), exterior body condition (any dents or accidents?), interior condition, engine performance, warranty still valid or expired, and of course price. Recall I told you I was looking for a used car at Al Rai area the other day, I saw there was a new big center selling used car called CarMax, I think total area was over 4,000 sq.m so I decided to have a look inside and see if they got any attractive deals.
Inside it looked like a supermarket for used cars, there were several car brands and models but mostly American and Japanese and some European, I noted they classified cars based on buyers budget. Some cars seemed to be in good condition but some looked relatively old, I checked the prices but I’m not sure if they are the best because I didn’t compare with other places yet. I’m considering either a German or Japanese car-makers preferably SUV but I’m not in a hurry so I’ll take my time to hunt for a hot deal. Those who are considering to buy used cars must also make sure to have them inspected/checked from a trusted place such as the official car dealers, I also heard Al Remal Al Thahabiya at Al Rai area is a good place. So questions are, which places do you recommend for buying used cars in Kuwait? Online like Q8Car or Q8Showroom? Haraj? and what are the most important factors to consider in your opinion.
