A few gas gas stations in Kuwait offer Euro gas and diesel but I never knew that one liter costs 260 fils (that’s more than quarter KD) compared to 60 fils/liter for normal gasoline, that means it would cost me about KD18 to refill my car tank.I always wondered what is special about it and why is it so expensive, any idea?

European emission standards define the acceptable limits for exhaust emissions of new vehicles sold in EU member states.
emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx), total hydrocarbon (THC), non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHC), carbon monoxide (CO) and particulate matter (PM) are regulated for most vehicle types, including cars, lorries, trains, tractors and similar machinery.
The stages are typically referred to as Euro 1, Euro 2, Euro 3, Euro 4 and Euro 5 fuels for Light Duty Vehicle standards.
Euro 1 (1993):
For passenger cars – 91/441/EEC.
Also for passenger cars and light trucks – 93/59/EEC.
Euro 2 (1996) for passenger cars – 94/12/EC (& 96/69/EC)
For motorcycle – 2002/51/EC (row A) – 2006/120/EC
Euro 3 (2000) for any vehicle – 98/69/EC
For motorcycle – 2002/51/EC (row B)[13] – 2006/120/EC
Euro 4 (2005) for any vehicle – 98/69/EC (& 2002/80/EC)
Euro 5 (2008/9) and Euro 6 (2014) for light passenger and commercial vehicles – 715/2007/EC
These limits supersede the original directive on emission limits 70/220/EEC.
so to make it simple it’s a very clean petrol
Thanks for your thorough explanation Outlaw but I’ve to admit I got totally lost though your bottom line made me know where you’re going with this lol thanks again
This type of gas is made for European engines, it burns faster and cleaner than normal gas, is kinda must have if you dont want to replace bmw gas tank every 2 years, or you would like to let your turbo engine & performance last longer.
Question is, since we’re 95% oil dependent country, why don’t we make such gas? hmmm
We are sadly depending on selling the crude oil not refining it to such various products.

Taz I literally had to pay between 70-80 dollars for full tank when I rented a car in the US. The model that I rented was a Carola 2012 model that’s gas efficient. I choked when I saw the price. And I’m only using regular and not any of those fancy super duper ultra ultimate do hicky fuel. :/
