I’ve to admit first that I like eating at Chili’s and I usually choose it over other restaurants but seeing how my order costs much more in Kuwait than the same order in other countries upsets me.
My usual order is Boneless Buffalo Wings, Margarita Grilled Chicken, and Soda (Diet Pepsi), sadly in Kuwait they’re priced higher and when I say higher I’m not talking about 200-300 fils more but Dinars, My sub-total in Kuwait is 10.600 KD, while in Dubai its 7.700 KD (That’s 2.900 KD less), and Los Angeles 5.400 KD (That’s 5.200 KD less). The same problem is also there with several other restaurants and cafe’s in Kuwait.
We all see how employees are striking for salary increase but I believe our main problem is the increasing prices and high inflation rate in Kuwait.

حده حرامي ايام قبل قبل الزياده اكثر مطعم ياخذ سيرفيس ولو شنو مايشيله وكل ماكلم موظف يقولولي الونار(المالك) طماع ويوصينه على هالسوالف .. والنصب والاحتيال شغلته مثل الفهيتا ينطبخ وياها افكاتو مايحطلك الا اذا اكت عليه معنه مذكوره بالمنيو .. وشدعوه اطلب باستا اقولهم مابي مشوي ابي مقلي يحسبون سعر المقلي فوق الوجبه .. كل المطاعم لمن ابدل بلاش مثل فرايديز وجوني روكوت

انا من عقب صدمتي بفاتورتي قبل جم اسبوع قلت خلاص اعلنت مقاطعه شيلز عاد والله احبه واايد بس اشدعوه اسعاره ناااار جذي
انا مقاطعته وبلشت اقاطع ستاربكس هم صاير غالي
وكل مكان يستغل الناس بالاسعار بقاطعه
عاد اذا كل المطاعم زادت اسعارها الخياليه وصارت نار
وماكو نطبخ بالبيت ونفرش عالبحر ومطارة شاي وقهوة شغل قبل انظف واوفر لوووووووول
This is a great post. It’s simple and easy, with a very clear message to people.
Restaurants and cafes must read posts like this one, to know that people are aware of how their prices are exaggerated, and that people have started to complaint and perhaps even boycott their places.

Yes we want to deliver a message that reasonable pricing is a essential in Kuwait, and in this post I’m are not attacking Chili’s but rather to highlight an issue that we wish their management to consider.

People shouldn’t go to these restaurants anymore, they should adjust their prices that’s totally unfair!!
same thing with starbucks…in california, normally its 50 cents, like 150fils to refill a coffee and like 1 dollar to refill an iced chai..which they also dont have here, free ice water there even if you didnt buy anything, and normally i get free refills on everything and free coffe sometimes because most of the starbucks there know me..also free wifi for the past 3 years without buying anything.this is all 100% true. here they get mad when you ask for water and tell you to buy a bottle and almost double the price. they had no free internet before but now u have to have a card and buy something to get the net. i say the owners are greedy, they dont do us a favor by being here. we do them a favor by buying from them
his is so true. Kuwait’s biggest problem is high inflation rate and by giving away more salaries will only increase the problem. Everything is Kuwait is expensive.

Kuwait prices are still cheaper than lotof European countries and Canada. In Canada all food chains are expensive than Kuwait.
Plus you have to consider additional tax for US prices.
What about Dubai? They have more inflation than Kuwait yet my order was almost 3 KD less. Many restaurants and cafe’s in Kuwait are increasing their prices according the increment for salaries.
If I think about what I spend at cafes and restaurants in $$$ instead of KD it just makes me sick. It’s such a rip off compared to the US. So I don’t think about it and just love Kuwait for being Kuwait.
That’s why the best way to fight these companies and to actually send them a clear message in lowering the price is to just stop eating from outside and eat at home. Seriously, give yourself some time to spare and you can really cook (with little or no knowledge in culinary art) a 5 star hotel meal for 6 people equivalent to the cost you have spent for 1 person dinner at chilies that costs you 10.600.
Moreover, when you make your stuff at home you KNOW what your putting inside so it eliminates those added chemicals and what not from your food.
It is kind of a rip off… Me and my cousin ate there for lunch last time, We ordered 2 Mini Burgers, Texas fries and 2 cokes. The bill came out to 17KD… we didn’t have any more money to watch The Hunger Games, but seriously, me and 4 of my friends went to Open Flame at 360 and we all ordered either west coast burgers, or Sliders, and we ordered extra fries and cokes, our bill came out to 16KD, so B+F was worth it.
