I’m sorry, but this is the dumbest thing the country could’ve ever done. There’s a billion and one alternatives, solar energy, wind energy, harvesting energy from sea waves, and so on and so forth, all without being having the potential to be dangerous and risky.

Kuwait can’t handle nuclear energy, kil yom 6ay7a benaya kil yom 6aye7 a9in9air kil yom 7ofra bshari3 kil yom balwa zarga, I highly doubt Kuwait would be able to maintain a nuclear power plant. We will just end up with a catastrophe like Chernobyl, allah y3afy our country’s carelessness and recklessness, lack of management lack of maintenance, just overall ’3abaa2.

When disaster strikes, and it will if they do go ahead with this, kil wa7ed byitlafat oo y2ashir 3al thaany oo ygool “mo shi’3ly, ohwa ily kan lazim ydeer balah, mo ana”. Deera khwara.

well, i do agree with you that the intentions are good, which is providing a good affordable energy, but with great power, comes a greater responsibility from:” Spider man, Peter Parker Uncle” lol :P

yes i think we should keep continues training to our staff from France which most likely will conduct the project for us and since they are the only country in Europe that fully operates on nuclear energy for their electricity! until they say we are ready to run the show on our own and maintain a periodical visits to see if we are following their procedures! :)

      Allah y7afthech ya Kuwait Lena!

      Thanks for your comment bro!

as much i love renewable energy and advocate for it , nuclear energy is the only option

beside the touchy-feely opinions, on a large scale renewable energy is not sufficient enough to cater for the demands for the country. the exception here is wind farm (on shore and off shore) but since both are not applicable to kuwait due to the low annual wind velocity not to mention other purely technical constraints. we are left only wit solar. now solar is not yet fully developed with low energy conversion rate (a solar to electricity conversion of merely 20% on average), not to to mention the problem of the massive amount of land required for the solar panels to be built on. its not the best economical choice. dont forget that we alive on 18 km squared with population already demanding more places to be urbanized. therefore nuclear is the best option.

every body is aware of the potential danger of nuclear energy and its also known to the government. long story short, operation and installation fo the plant can be done by multi international corporation that are specialized in nuclear energy like the one in France or uk. comparing building and maintaining of a nuclear plant with street or apartment is simply stupid and ignorant .
btw. i have not heard of apartment falling down in kuwait for the past 2 years

  3. Summer says:

that is a very stupid and unnecessary move. why can’t they just use solar energy. We have a hot sun and a vast desert. Even if it costs lots of money, Kuwait is a rich country!

    love.
    summer.

    • El Toro says:

i think one of the main reasons apart from the needed vast amount of land for those solar panels is the fact that its not practical for Kuwait due to the large amount of dust that we face from the fact that our environment is a desert! :) so we need Rajoo & bo Reza al Cleaner Al Ahwazi to clean those panels daily! :P but i doubt they could with their bicycles :P

thanks for your comment dear :)

Sorry Banana, but I want to hijack your post for a second :P

q8othug, hatha ily gadarik allah 3alaih? 3abaly 3indik salfa LOL!

I shall proceed to shoot down your silly “comebacks”, in chronological order. Here goes:

Wind farming, low annual velocity? Oo hal ’3baar ily thabi7na, mn wain iyee ballah? Kuwait is dusty 360 days of the year. Maybe it’s just my neighbor’s tishifi6 oo tigi7i9 that caused all the ’3baar, not wind? :P

Solar energy requires a massive amount of land, you say. You do realise that the population of Kuwait only inhabits something like 25% of the land, while the remaining 75% is barren desert? 75% of Kuwait’s land is absolute nothingness, so you can shoot down that excuse. (I’m not sure of the exact numbers and figures so don’t crucify me if I’m off by a percentage or whatever).

Economical choice. Interesting. So, you’re willing to go for the cheaper option, and trade in the country’s health and safety? Go figure. Cheaper, more economical doesn’t mean its the best option in the long run.

Long story short, it is stupid and arrogant to think that a country that can’t maintain things as trivial as streets and 7-storey buildings, can be trusted to maintain a nuclear reactor. If you’re willing to gamble with your life, go bungee jumping, not live on a mine field.

I haven’t heard of “apartments” falling either. Momkin tishra7 ly ballah, shlon t6ee7 shiqa?

    • El Toro says:

no its ok be my guest :)

bs ma7ad galy shraykom bel pic ely swait-ha?! :P lol!

isnt it cute with Simpsons! :D

    • q8othug says:

using dust storms as a source for wind farming ?!?!
      lolololololololol

yes, lets build a massive array of wind towers that will be corroded and its gears gradually filling up with fine sand ! *roll eyes*

they are called sand storms and not sand season for a reason, they dont occur often. for the sake of fun and lulz lets assume that they have created this magical wind tower that dust has no effect on it at all. basically your argument is that we build a multi-million wind farm from sandy weather and storms that happen on lets say 50 days from 365 days!

unlike you , i wont hijack this blog. so i will make the long story short:
      * you dont need crucifying for the totally worng figures you mentioned, you should be impaled, loooool
      * i will write in my own blog a complete reply for the solar energy part since we are all done with the idiocity of putting large scale wind farms.
*economy is peg that this world runs around. that and scientific discoveries made from wars. i will reply on the economical reason but not the war thing which another topic by itself.
*final note kuwait is no different than the rest of the world , recall the Chernobyl incident of the mighty soviet union and the electricity blackouts in the powerful US of A.

I really dont trust our “careless” people with nuclear energy! Allah yastir

    We’ll live and see.

  8. Waazaap says:

I totaly agree with DODO,, I think solar energy is the best solution, if they will use properly,, one month can power Kuwait for the next 70 years.
leaving all other alternatives aside, solar energy is what Kuwait should consider, and not Nuc power.
there will be leakage. Kuwait is suffering from polution everywhere already, adding Nuc leakage to it ??!!
It will be fatal, Kuwait is small and will get affected very easily.

  9. سؤال وين راح يبنون هالمفعلات خبر حلو بس ماكو مكان
