Today we were invited by Planet Hollywood for their soft launch at Olympia complex in Salmiya. I was waiting for this for so long, I went to this restaurant in almost all countries I’ve visited.

The grand opening will be this Thursday, and the first question I asked was: Is Sylvester Stallone coming to Kuwait? I got a very subtle answer from the manager but he said its going to be a surprise

Though very indirectly, I was told that Mr. Stallone is hesitated to attend the opening partly because of the current  instability in Middle East. The interior looked so Hollywood-like

Seeing all  those stuff reminded me of the 90′s, oh I love nineties big time ! It was the golden age for Hollywood. Its great how they brought many real actors belongings from the movies they have acted in.

Stuff from Terminator, Die Hard, Dragon, Rambo, Knock Off and many others were there There were a nice bar and souvenirs corner, I also liked the signatures for Hollywood stars.

We sat at the table and started checking out the menu, there were a good variety of dishes to choose from. Burgers, steaks, sandwiches, pizzas, pastas, salads, soups were among the things I noticed.

We ordered the following:

V.I.P Platter: Great for starters.

Beef Sliders: Loved them.

BBQ Bacoon cheese burger: My friend said it was good.

La Lasagna: Tasty.

The one remark that I believe management should work on is the exterior sittings, I think they need to add more ambients (lightings, decorations) so it feels more like the restaurant and not part of the complex.

All in all, it was fun and nice to be at Planet Hollywood, I don’t want to look for the short-comings because we’ll always find them. I’ll also consider visiting them again soon.
